My wife is as avid a shooter as I am. So it's always good to have someone to head to the range with you, but it effectively doubles my ammo costs. She's damn accurate with the AR, and almost as good with my SW99. So when things went down yesterday, I told her to pack up the guns and the ammo with her when she headed to her mothers. They do lunch and other errands together daily, but I didn't want the guns at the house with no one there since I haven't gotten my safe yet.
I was equally impressed with my little brother's ability to shoot a pistol. When he was 14 I took him out to the range when my friend brought his registered M16 into town, and he was quite good with both. Apparently one of our cousins had gotten to him before I had, but I still had things to teach him. Still, he has a natural ability to shoot well. Unfortunately he won't be able to own anything of his own for another 3 years, but I told him I'd buy him an AR15 when he graduates from High School.
God Bless Texas.
