Well, I'm a college student and live off campus a decent apartment complex. For the most part good people and cheap rent. Well our neighbor who is the maintenance man is a great guy, nice, and always willing to help. Lets call him bob.

Me and my roommates decide we are having burgers tonight. So I thaw them and get them ready to go. As I'm putting the burgers out one of the other guys that Ive seen around the neighborhood, lets call him jim, comes up to our neighbors back door with 2 dogs. Small mean looking things, Id long thought they were fighting dogs. The dogs start going berserk and fighting each other on the spot. Jim is obviously mad and decides to take the dogs home because they are being to unpredictable (They survive the whole story... I'm not sure how).

At this point somethings up and I'm pretty sure it isn't good. I run upstairs to grab my CCW (yes I concealed it) and back down just in time to see Jim come back and start screaming at bobs back door. Most of it was him screaming "Yeha you little Bitch" and "I'm going to kick your ass!" with a few "Yeah, Call the police! Bring it". This continued for a few minuted till he left. He came back for a few more minutes pulling the same crap. All the while I'm tending to my hamburgers on the grill.

As we are sitting down to eat I see some coplights go screaming by, with no sirens, on the high way next to our apartment complex. I figured they were coming here, not a big deal, they've been here before. Bob gives them a statement and the police officer disappears for a few minutes (I figure to go talk to Jim). Eventually the officer comes back and leaves, this time for good.

So me and my roomies have eaten now and just hanging out on the back porch. Jim walks by cursing and swearing with alcohol in hand and he looks at us and says "You tell bob that when I catch him I'm going to whoop his ass." He repeats this a few times and I tried to tell him he shouldn't be talking like that since the police are involved and it isn't going to help his situation. He didn't like that. So jim stumbled off mumbling to himself and talking loudly, the word "cracker" was mentioned more than a few times. That was the last I saw of him so far this night.

After this incident I figure I need to go talk with bob. We exchange cell #'s and tell him that I can be a witness if he needs one. I also told him to call me if he needs me for anything or if he comes around again, yelling and screaming or if he does something stupid to endanger anyone.

All of this because the owner of the apartment complex (not bob, though bob was his jims boss) fired him from his 6.50/hour job

Anyway, I never thought it would happen to me, but it did. crazy people starting stuff in my neighborhood. No one was hurt, the police know whats going on, and I didnt have to correct someones overflowing stupidity with 115gr of psychological help.

an employee of the complex should have a addition to their lease stating that if they are fired they must move out of the complex within x days. i have one in my lease because i live on the property i work for. it is there to protect you, the residents, and the office staff. if i am fired i have 10 days to pack my bags and go.

i didnt say he will, just that he should. all properties with good managment ive seen have had simliar things though, usually between 10-15 days. i dont think i know of any properties around here that DONT do it, but i cant say for sure they in fact do it at yours. its not a law or anything(at least not in SC!), just good sense.
