Well, last sunday I got home from my morning bike ride.  As I am walking in the door, the wife meets me in the kitchen and says "Good morning Daddy!"  Now I am the first to admit that I don't get subtle hints, I am thinking "heh, I'll play along" so without thinking I say "Good morning Mommy" and go about making my breakfast.

That's when she holds up the ClearBlue Easy digital test with the word "PREGNANT" spelled out on it, and says, "No, good morning DADDY!"

JUST CALL ME DADDY!!!

I have a "mini-me" on the way, to mold in my image, and raise in the ways of the DAVE (although the wife says I can only have supervised visits).

Dave

I would have told you guys sooner, but I have walking around in a happy daze since I found out, and didn't realize until this morning that I hadn't really told anyone.

Congrats.

Like others said sleep now.

If you were thinking about a new gun or car or some some other big purchase, do it now. Kids will suck up all of your money.

Hey awsome! Congrats !!! We have three. 14, 5 and 14 months. Good for you ! It's true that the baby can hear you before they are born so start reading mil-spec manuels now and by the age of two he/she should be able to do all your gunsmithing for you. Just kidding. Great news. Take care. Coondog.

Just like going down the slide at kindergarden, so are the days of our lives,WEEEEEEEE!hy.gif

The first year is kinda rough, but it's getting more fun every day.  My daughter is almost 14 months now and she's great!

Again, congrats.

congrats
What I learned:
1. you now have a designated driver for a good 8 months
2. buy every "toy" you want now because after that your toy money goes to toys....
3. start buying diapers every time you go to targrt/wal mart
4. get a diaper genie and start buying the refills now for it- get a dozen minimum
5. you free time is going to drop expotentially, and no, two kids is NOT easier!!!!
6 if you do have two kids- have them close together
7. watch out for pre-partum mood swings
8. watch for post-partum mood swings

Good advice from Cleatus.

Start buying diapers now. They are like ammo. You will never have enough and you will always be low.

Boy, there's always one in every crowd, isn't there?  Here I am, basking in the glow of my newfound fatherhood, and you have to come along and ruin it for me.

Thanks a lot, bastard!

Just kidding - several of my coworkers have already claimed it as theirs, just as I claimed their children as mine.

All in good fun.

Dave

Congrats on the upcoming arrival. Someone said get your sleep now, in 8 mths blah blah
As soon as she is uncomfy in bed, you won't get any sleep! Hubby still razes me about that 18mths later. When I was miserable, he was too!!

I second VAgunnut.. the diaper genies are a waste of money. Just set a can outside the backdoor for the smelly ones!
