We had one of those that made it's web outside our basement door when I was a kid. Damn thing scared the crap out of me, I swear it was as big as my face. OKay not really, but it was big enough that I didn't want to squish it w/o a 2x4.

Rather have one of those than the black widow I found today. It's OK though. I gave it a nice bath in 10w30.

Johnny_Reno's rules of life:

1) If it doesn't have 2 or 4 legs, it dies.  (waivers are granted to fish)
2) If it considers me to be a meal, it dies.

Your spider falls under rule #1.

Is that the old style Wolf spider or the new polymer-coated spider?

I'm still waiting for the hue and cry regarding "cruelty" and "sickos" ala the piranha/mouse fiasco.

I have around 30 snakes in my house, 5 of them are venemous. The only thing that freaks me out though is the Tarantula. Oh yeah, and the ferrets. I hate ferrets.

I greet all the spiders I meet warmly, with a butane torch!
