Here in NW Ohio, the pickings for dealers are pretty slim. Luckily we do have Adco. Unfortunately, we also have Cleland's Outdoor World. It seems the owner, besides liking high prices, also is against our current "gun show loophole". She feels so strongly about it she felt the need to give our local antis ammunition. Of course she is way off base, but others who read our local rag (rag being a nice word) could very well be misled.
Here is a link of the article in question: www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070422/NEWS08/704220317/-1/NEWS and here is an excerpt: "'The big loophole' One of Ms. Cleland's chief concerns, however, is what happens after the initial sale. The same gun that she sells to a customer can be resold virtually without scrutiny and without a trace in five minutes, five days, or five years. A private individual also can sell a handgun at the ever-popular gun shows around the state without paperwork or scrutiny. Federal firearms license holders and dealers at the same shows, however, do have to fill out the forms. "It's a loophole. We do all this paperwork, but to me that is the big loophole. We're regulated to the teeth, but then we have this huge gray area where people just go out and sell them without keeping any records," Mrs. Cleland said. "It makes it look like we're controlling guns, but we're not. That's what we're dealing with, with the Virginia Tech thing. It's not the gun issue but that the system failed." Ms. Cleland noted, moreover, that there is no limit to the number of handguns that a customer can buy. Multiple purchases within five days, however, requires a dealer to file a special report with the ATF." Please spread the word if you happen to live in NW Ohio and SE MI. |

Rpobaly want it so they can rip you off on a transfer when you do a FTF sale
In the story " she " was called Mrs and Ms. So what is it, is she married, ie did she find someone what would crawl up on " her " nekid body
Plus, it eliminates a lot of competition to maintain her high profit margin. Once you become the only game in town, you can charge whatever you want. Most FFL dealers are supportive of the 2A, but unfortunately a few are only interested in establishing a monopoly in their local area. These dealers are not our friends. If I lived up there, it would be a cold day in H--- before I ever spent a dime in that woman's gun store. |

She was married, as for now, I don't know. Her one son (Chad Cleland) is a champion muzzleloader at Camp Perry and the other is into bows. Funny thing about the writer...he is our local outdoors writer, and in the past he went off against high capacity magazines. I don't have a link but in was in the Toledo Blah about a year ago. |

I may be visiting Ohio in the near future. I will ensure that Cleland's Outdoor World is not part of my trip.

"It's a loophole. We do all this paperwork, but to me that is the big loophole. We're regulated to the teeth, but then we have this huge gray area where people just go out and sell them without keeping any records," Mrs. Cleland said.
That may be what she SAID , but here's what she MEANT....... "It's a loophole , because I don't make any money off the people selling their guns face to face. We're regulated to the teeth , but we have this huge gray area where people can go out and sell guns without giving me any money , and I'm willing to throw all gun owners under the bus if it will make me a couple extra bucks." Some people have no loyalty to anything other than their own bank account. Sounds like the case here. ETA - And since when has "the Virginia Tech thing" had ANYTHING to do with the "gun show loophole" ?????? Last I heard , both of Cho's guns were purchased from a FFL dealer. |
Yea go there to sell a used pistol, they will only be able to give you $250 for that LNIB G19 and will be back out for sale 15 mins later for $429.99 |

Bingo! The name Judas comes to mind. |
I wonder if she'll do transfers for free? |
It's too bad that she has these views on the "gun show loophole" since she is less than a mile from an Ohio turnpike exit and would be a great stop if you were traveling thru. Instead you can go to Adco in Sylvania and walk into a pro AR shop. |
Sounds like it's time to start sending her e-mails and letters expressing our refusal to spend our hard earned dollars in her store:
CLELAND'S OUTDOOR WORLD 10306 Airport Highway Swanton, Ohio 43558 Email: [email protected] E-95 |
I say we all call and ask for free transfers |
Well dealers have avested interest in gettting cut in on every transfer out there. But I still say she should get Zumbo'd for feeding the anti frenzy. Bad enough with RHINOs in DC but gun dealers who will willing scuttle our constitutional rights for thier own gain can f themselves sideways.

You just had to go there, didn't you. Don Davis is the scourge of the firearms retail industry. We Hoosiers wish he would just die already. |
I'd go in there and give her $3 in dimes attached to a note that says "This is the last money you will ever get from me. And if it within my power, once I relate your story and opinion to others in the area, I hope it is the last you receive from anybody else as well. I hope what publicity you garnered was worth it." |
i'd be pissed off and full of shit if i was that hideous too
I can't believe she survived the gunshot wound to her face............suicide attempt?
I'll just nicely say she is FOS in more ways then one. |
AH my eyes!!! Put a warning in the title, that pic hurt my eyes!
I say we boycot that place, and lets let them know it. |
go in...act like you're going to buy a bunch of stuff, have it stacked on the counter and rung up and then say...
"OOOHHHH this is the shop that had that artical about the gun show loophole isn't it????" then walk out, just boycoting them isn't enough. |
Do stop by Adco while you're there. Small place, but lots of good stuff and good peeps. |
Oh, that would sting. |
I doubt she will ever have a wedding band unless they legalize ghey marriage.
BOTD warning? LOL |
I just sent her this e-mail:
Yea, I know . . . I don't live in Ohio, have never been to her store, and probably never would even if I hadn't read this article . . . but she doesn't know that. E-95 |

+1 That bitch is so hideous I honestly think she could make a freight train take a dirt road. |
It might be worth writing the paper a letter to the author or editor, pointing out the conflict of interest that dealers like Ms. Cleland have (with sales that don't go through her shop) (not that I have much faith in the papers to present things fairly) Contact Steve Pollick at: [email protected] or 419-724-6068. (I might add that the Blade is a sister publication of the liberal & anti Pgh Press, worthless rag) |

I'd take a big shit right in front of the door before opening time. |
