I was looking through my photos on my laptop tonight and was just thinking how lucky I am to live in this beautiful country.  I've been able to do a lot of awesome things in the last 3 years and thought I would share.

The first three photos are from a week long horse packing trip that I worked on through the wilderness south of Yellowstone.  The second photo is in the most amazing place in the world.  The bottom of that valley is Bridger Lake, which is the most remote place in the lower 48 states. I'm at the lake in the third photo.

The next couple pictures are from a hike up Mount Timpanogas in Utah.

The next two pictures are from a fishing trip I helped guide for on Yellowstone Lake.  We camped on the east side of the lake.  The first picture is taken basically from my tent.

The next picture is from an ice fishing trip with several friends....we did well.

Then the last few pictures are from a few different hunts.

Hope you don't mind me bragging a little.  I thought some people would enjoy these.  Even with all the crap that goes on in the country, we still live in the best place in the world.

Thanks to all you guys that serve to keep us free.

Yeah yeah. I've heard that before.

Seriously though, in that picture less than a foot to my left is a couple hundred foot drop. Hiking poles are mandatory in my experience for mountain hiking on trails in which you might experience obstacles and just to assist in acending and decending.

Dude, I've long said that any ARFCOMMER who wants to hike in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Hike GNP, Hunt, cross country ski or get likkered up in Whitefish is more than welcome to let me know and if I can fit it into my schedule, I'm game.

Come on up.

One of the best times fishing that I've had with my dad was a guided fishing trip on Yellowstone Lake.  We had a competition going for which one of use could catch the most cutthroat trout.  He beat me by two fish.  I don't remember the exact numbers but I know it was around 30 a piece in just a couple of hours.

Same thing

Willow springs lake, the creek behind the dam, and Rim road overlooking 260..

That first picture, I can't even count how many trout/crayfish/bluegills I've caught standing in that same exact spot with my dad when I was younger.

That little path running along the creek behind the dam, I packed my elk out 3 years ago (took 3 trips) at night about 1 mile down that path. Long night.

I miss home.

Looks to be a Yugo M48 to me.  3/4 bent bolt in the white.  Handguard wood behind the rear sight.  Nice rifle.

Great pictures OP!

You're a smart man.  Do that stuff now while you can before you make decisions that tie you down.  When I was in college, 20 yrs ago, there was an ad on a bulletin board to go to Alaska and build fish runs.  One of my professors pointed it out and said, "You boys ought to do that or you'll be regretting it later."  He was right.

Yeah, Utah actually has a pretty big population of shiras moose.  The same day that picture was taken I saw 1 other bull and a cow with a calf.  We don't have the wolves yet.....
