I usually comment on political issues or current events but don't tell much about my life on this site. Today I wanted to let everyone know that my girl, Ginger has passed. She was almost 15. Got her at 6 weeks old as a rescue. She has been a great friend. Watched both my kids grow up and has watched over them. About 8 months ago she was diagnosed with cancer. My wife and I had more visits to the doctor with her than ourselves. She loved her evening walks. Took one every day. The last few months she could not walk well so we got her a wagon and took her for a ride in the evenings. She Always slept with one of us at night. She used to sleep with my son until he got married and moved out. Then she slept with my daughter until she went away to college. After that she slept with my wife and I. I will miss her at my feet tonight. I believe that she picked her time to go. Everyone came over for Easter. The kids even brought their dogs to visit. I believe she said good bye to everyone on Easter. When she could walk she was waiting at the door for my wife every day. The last few months my wife rushed home from work to take care of Ginger. Today she got home rushed to Ginger and got her some water. She has been drinking a lot of water due to the medicines that she was taking .She drank the water, fell over and passed with my wife holding her. Ginger will be missed. Attached File |

Very sorry to hear about your loss; a dog passing is incredibly difficult. Just remember the good times and know that you gave her the best life she could have. |

I am sorry for your loss op. This sadly happens since they live such short lives compared to ours. But think of all the good times you shared together and what a gift that was.

Man it's best that way when they go on their own. I was fearing that my pup was having a seizure the other night on our walk so I called the Mrs. to pick him up in the car and bring him home.
The thought of having to take him to the vet and leave without him is overwhelming. |

One last drink of water. Can't ask for much more.
Green grass and high tides |

I'm sorry for your loss. 15 years with a good dog is more than a blessing.
There's your proof that Gingers do have souls |

every time I lose a pet I know a big chunk of my heart is getting punched out that I know I won't ever get back. When I hear how you and your wife tended to your dog during it's last days I can tell your good people and that your dog had an amazing life. |
