Award winning apple pies...

Granny Smith apples, some sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg... Into the oven for about 20 minutes, then wrap the edges with foil. Then after another 30 minutes or so, "wala"...

A little scoop vanilla ice cream on top and a cup of hot, black coffee...

OP, perhaps you have missed the following board rules as they are admittedly somewhat obscure and qualifying subject matter far too infrequent.

Section 87.0 Delectable Pie Representation
                     8.7.0 Pie Photography
870.1 Pie, when determined to be delectable must be represented by a minimum of two (2) photographs.
                                        1. A tempting shot of the freshly baked crust.
                                        2. A mouth watering sexy shot of the cross section of sliced pie. Under apple shots are encouraged.
                                        3. When said pie has additional attachments such as ice cream,
additional photographs are rewarded with silent golf clapping.

There's more, but in the interest of time and preservation of said pie I've only quoted the most directly applicable to the situation.

I sprinkle sugar on top. No need for egg whites.

"Wala"... A 7 year old great niece was doing the serving, so one takes what one can get. The cream cheese chocolate cup cake was a nice touch...

With some real good vanilla ice cream and coffee, that would be perfect.
