Best damn dog I could have had hands down.

Rocky....13 year old Austrailian Shepard.

She at least passed at home and I didn't have to have the vet do it.....Thank God.
Maybe she knew that and helped me out.

Just put her in a wooden box i made by hand after she passed 2 hrs ago.

Going to bury her now at the farm, and that piece of land won't be touched in 50 years from development ...at least.

Hug your buddy tonight, you never know when it's their time, or yours.

Been there, it sucks I know.

Time heals all wounds, you'll be thankful for the time you had together.

Here's was a picture of my chuckle head's first meeting a horse - yeah, really didn't think it would be that easy.
Anyway, I don't know what I will do when he dies (well, besides get my bed back, stubborn fucking dog). Sorry for your loss. It's always hard.

I feel you.  Our 15 year old Westie passed in July, 2 days before my birthday.  I still get teary eyed when I sit and think about him.

Really sorry for your loss.  Aussies are "people" in their own mind and you get extremely attached to them.   We lost a blue Merle 9 years ago and our Black Tri-color is showing her age now.    Such great companions.

Would love to see a pic of her.

Sorry for your loss.  I've had to say goodbye to too many pets and I always end up asking the same question.

Why do we get pets that become part of the family knowing that we will most likely outlive them?  Because their time with us is worth it.

I know it can hurt bad losing a good dog.
I hope he rests in peace OP.

Mine will be 14 tomorrow.

He walks funny because it hurts but can still play with his toys.
I ain't looking forward to his passing.

13 years, she had a good long life, but even at that , dogs just don't live long enough.

Sorry for your loss, OP. I like dogs more than most people. I had to have my Golden Retriever Chloe put to sleep nearly 2 years ago. It still hurts to this day.

The Rainbow Bridge welcomes another. Hang in there.

Sorry, Strikeforces.

By Lord Byron:
Near this Spot
are deposited the Remains of one
who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferosity,
and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.

This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery
if inscribed over human Ashes,
is but a just tribute to the Memory of
BOATSWAIN, a DOG,
who was born in Newfoundland May 1803
and died at Newstead Nov. 18, 1808.

When some proud Son of Man returns to Earth,
Unknown to Glory, but upheld by Birth,
The sculptor's art exhausts the pomp of woe,
And storied urns record who rests below.
When all is done, upon the Tomb is seen,
Not what he was, but what he should have been.
But the poor Dog, in life the firmest friend,
The first to welcome, foremost to defend,
Whose honest heart is still his Master's own,
Who labours, fights, lives, breathes for him alone,

Unhonoured falls, unnoticed all his worth,
Denied in heaven the Soul he held on earth --
While man, vain insect! hopes to be forgiven,
And claims himself a sole exclusive heaven.

Oh man! thou feeble tenant of an hour,
Debased by slavery, or corrupt by power --
Who knows thee well must quit thee with disgust,
Degraded mass of animated dust!
Thy love is lust, thy friendship all a cheat,
Thy tongue hypocrisy, thy heart deceit!
By nature vile, ennobled but by name,
Each kindred brute might bid thee blush for shame.
Ye, who behold perchance this simple urn,
Pass on -- it honors none you wish to mourn.
To mark a friend's remains these stones arise;
I never knew but one -- and here he lies.
