Just checked my work email, and I have an email from my completely insane, anxiety ridden workaholic boss that details next weeks plans, starting on Monday (we have off).

Should I tell her, or let her figure it out on her own when Monday rolls around.?

I work for the feds and have been reminding myself that I have Monday off all week. I still think I'll wake up and go to work. Who celebrates MLK day?

Unless you work in HR, it ain't your job to tell her.

Link Posted: 1/16/2015 6:32:57 AM EST
Pffft......a day off?

Where do you work OP?
Link Posted: 1/16/2015 6:33:05 AM EST
My place of employment is closed but somebody has to watch the place.
So I get 12 hours of holiday pay + 3rd shift differential.
Before hand, I'll sit in quiet contemplation at the Underground Railroad Museum for a few hours.

How racist do you have to be to refuse a day off? It could be "National Kill Whitey Day" and I'd gladly sleep in and barbeque.

I can see how what I wrote could be misread. I meant to say that I'll probably forget it is a holiday, drive in to work, realize that nobody is there, and then drive home.

One of my guys called me and asked if we were off...

I said we just had Xmas, and easter is still a ways off... Did I miss a holiday?

Hahahahahahaha.... He didn't laugh as hard as I did.

IS doesn't take time off as far as I have seen, so we don't get the day off either.

Ill answer with a question. Do you value your job?

Yes = politely remind her
No = option B

What does valuing his job got to do with his boss being oblivious to everything except work?

She's a grown woman, and in charge of other people, the least she could do is consult her calender on occasion.

I say her find out on her own, maybe she'll wake up and start paying attention.

You have Monday off?

I don't think it's a day off where I work. Not that I mind tho... I like being paid.

Still... good luck with her. I wonder if she'll notice it when no one else is at work when she shows up....

In Virginia to day is Lee-Jackson day and Monday is MLK. So 4 day weekend for most state employees.

Derp.

Paid company holiday.

Though I suppose her telling me to come in that day is just yet more ammo for a potential harassment suit.

She probably needs you to get cracking on those TPS reports.

I think postal workers are the only people that have off, where other people notice. A few non-essential bank employees do other stuff that day too.

The first two posts nail it. Let her figure it out all by her lonesome.
