Played hookie today from work and happened into my local wallys world. I found a couple nice flannel shirts [i work outside so always looking for a deal] made by Faded Glory. One was made in USA and one in Mongolia...3 dollars each. Went to sporting goods and asked the young lady for all her white box in .223. Came to 7 boxes at $7.73 each. Proceeded to pay for all my stuff in sporting goods and the young lady removed my shirts from the plastic hanger and folded them as if they were being displayed as new. What i mean is, i generally fold them in half then fold or roll them up and shove them in a bag. She folded them so all the buttons were in front and the sleeves were hidden behind. What a job! I told her she should be working at Macy's or something and she said she was "comfortable here".

Needless to say, it all went quite well. No funny looks, no questions. Too bad my union hates wal-mart.

Yeah I buy a lot of WWB .223 at our local wally land.  They are building a super center across town right now, so this spring hopefully they will have a lot more selection on stuff.  I've never been hassled about gun or ammo purchases there...

ETA:  my only complaint is that even with a CCW permit and the resulting ability to bypass the NICS it usually takes about an hour to buy any firearm...

Walmart just opened a supercenter here.

Is that where UFCW came out and made a big fuss?

I heard it on the news.

I think the UFCW is going to make a fuss any place they think they can and get away with it.  They crashed and burned something fierce in the last strike here in CA.  Not only did they cost a lot of members a lot of money, they couldn't even keep self-serrve scan your own checkstands out of the stores.  They lost a lot of face in the eyes of thinking members and there are a lot of grocery chains around the country that think they have them buy the short hairs now.  (They are probably right.)

I bought out the local walmart of all of their winchester white box .223, .45 auto, 9mm, 40 S&W, and every box of .308 ammo they had.  came out to
15 40rd boxes of 223,
13 100rd boxes of .45,
29 100rd boxes of 9mm,
6 100rd boxes of .40S&W
4 boxes of .308

The girl ringing it up had the look, but at least she didnt ask me the stupid "what do you need all this ammo for?" question.

I literally live right across the street from a Walmart 24 hour Supercenter.

I try and avoid it as best I can, but sometimes they are just too damn convienent. Walmart really is the Borg.

Mongolia has textile industry?

I thought they just rode around on horses, hearding sheep and still lived in yurts.
