About 5 months ago I proposed to my now fiance.  She told me that she would buy me a nice watch to match her very nice ring.  I told her that I don't  particularly like watches and that a new handgun would mean more to me.

Well, she made good on the deal and supplied the funds for my new handgun.  I have been looking for a compact .45 for some time and decided on the Springfield Ultra Compact.  I have a Springer G.I and love it, so that swayed me a bit.

This handgun was my first gunbroker.com purchase so I was a bit nervous, but the gun turned out to be far nicer than I could have imagined.  The gun is mint, no scratches or wear of any kind.  I bought some checkered cocobolo grips, but the ones that are on it now look so nice I'm not sure if I want to take them off.  By the way, thanks  "Lonestarmike"  if you are reading this.

This is my first attempt at an artful firearm photo so please feel free to critique my picture.  I didn't have a tripod and my light source was a 60 watt desk lamp, but I think it came out pretty good.  If you can zoom in on the photo a bit it looks better.

On a final note....I think I found the right girl!!!

Range report and more pics to follow.  Hopefully this weekend.

Let me know how your arm feels after 300 rounds.
My Kimber Ultra can sting a bit with +p loads and I dont like to shoot more than a couple hundred rounds at a time with it. It's a pretty light gun for .45 loads.

My camera is a Fuji Finepix S5000.

As for +P rounds.  The owners manual that came with the pistol said no +P rounds.

My buddy has a Kimber Tactical Ultra, and I think my pistol outweighs it a bit.  His has an aluminum frame whereas mine has steel.  I think this should help with recoil.

Thanks
