Have you called/emailed your Senators yet about the immigration reform bill?

I suggest you do so....the media is pushing hard to make it look like there are millions of people in the streets who are against it. We need to remind them that there are tens of millions of Americans who support meaningful immigration reform.

A lot of RINOs and maybe even some of the more reasonable Democrats are going to need some "encouragement" in order to do the right thing here. Let's remind them who votes and who doesn't. Here's a sample letter--feel free to edit/use as necessary.

Dear Senator XXXXX:

I write to you today to ask for your support of the Senate version of HR 4437, in its original form. Representative Sensenbrenner’s bill is a good first step towards dealing with the millions of illegal immigrants who have displayed such flagrant disregard for federal law.

I also ask that you oppose any sort of provisions or amendments which would create a guest worker program, or which would grant amnesty to those who have already broken federal law. Such programs would be a slap in the face to the honest people who have been waiting years to get into our country through legal means.

America is a nation of laws—it’s time to treat illegal immigrants the same way that we do others who break federal law. Please do not be swayed by the media’s coverage of the protests in Los Angeles and other western cities. The hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants participating in these protests don’t vote….but the hundreds of millions of Americans who are concerned about our complete lack of border enforcement do.

Thank you for your time,
