I am looking to buy my first Grandson ( who is an avid 2nd Amendment supporter) his first
22 cal rifle. Let me hear your opinions.... I am thinking about a 1) little cricket model 253 2) Ruger 10/22 ( a must have for any collection) or maybe 3) I stole this from Spikes Tactical  .22LR Upper with YHM Light Weight Rail
I wonder if I can get a "First Grandson Discount"?

My kids got these as they grew up;
1. Daisy 105 Buck (Not the Red Ryder - crappy stock) http://daisy.com/shopping/customer/product.php?productid=16139&cat=249&page=1 2. Single shot .22 like a used Ithaca 49 lever action. (Cricket is pretty short and he'll outgrow it quickly) http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=140357682 3. 10/22 or a Marlin 60. (Hi-cap mags are not too expensive for the 10/22) 4. AR-15 in .223 Just my 2 cents. YMMV.  |

I would get a regular AR with a .22 kit if you have the coin.
