Got quizzed by the President of the company today, "Do you have a CCW permit yet?  I replied in the negative and he asked why not, I told him that he worked me so hard that I didn't have time to do the course, paperwork etc.

Now he's gonna cough up the classroom fee and annual fee as well.  He said, of all people that need a CCW permit, I should have one because I know how to handle a handgun.  He admitted that he was not very comfortable with his.

It's a family business, but we operate in 36 states and employ over 350 people.  I bought the Boss his first semi auto 9mm.

(BTW -  I really think that he wants me to carry because the son-in-law IT guy could go postal at any time [:D])

So, is your Boss like this? (LEO's and guys from Coal Creek Armory don't count)

'Xanadu' indeed.

I once had a boss that saw a marine photo on my desk and quizzed me about guns like he was interested in purchasing one. Gave him technical and background info on types, quality etc. Later found out he was telling people I was a 'gun nut'. Fucker.

My dad is my boss. He buys me guns.

He gave one of his employees a .357 as a bonus last year. This year the company is sending some top people on a hunting trip, probably.

Not just no, but HELL NO!  My boss is a ultra-anal retentive, liberal piece of shit with a Napoleon complex.

I still carry to work and so do many of my co-workers.

I don't even know my boss,(top dog at company). My manager is cool about guns but the company policy treats guna and ammo like drugs and alcohol. None allowed on company property. It's a hypocritical policy since our company makes some of the most sophisticated weaponry and destructive devicesin the world.

I have yet to get my ccw either Xanadu. It seems a pretty steep price to pay for a right that I was born with. What is it, about $150 to jump through all the hoops here in Tennessee?

My first boss was really cool! I went shooting with him once. Though he is more the own a gun for defense only type he said he had more fun this time then he ever did.

The funny part of the day was when he said he did a lot of shooting and I said it was a short day for me.

sounds like the two of you need to go and spend at least one full day at the range together [:)]

I would have said no.  I would have said I carry anyway, as the 2A says - shall not be infringed.

By getting a permit, you are freely giving up your rights and paying a fee to exercise them.

I work for a french owned company.  They'd take the plastic knives out of our lunches if they could do it legally.

Nuff said.

Yeah, why don't you have it yet? I thought of all people you would have been the first in line when the law passed.

BTW: We're on the back side of 6 months for little Juggy. He's going to be sitting in a classroom, watching a boring videotape and getting qualified in December.

Yeah.

my crappy call center has a violence policy that includes no weapons
bastards, I'd carry my glock if they didn't have the policy, not because I think I need the protection, but just because I legally could

although one of our product specialists used to have a pic of some sort of special forces guy coming out of a swap with a tricked out M4 for his computer's wall paper. that was always cool to look at, never talked to him about it to find out if he's a gun nut or ex military or anything like that

Xanadu was the password to my brothers and my first computer.  A Z80 Zilog machine, this was back when running at 12 MB in the Turbo mode was kickin and a 10 mb hard drive was kick ass storage. (so that tells you how long I've been around)

My boss said carry if you want, just be careful what you shoot at, some targets pay rent.

Does that count?

Actually the very first year TN had CCW's I did have the permit.  It took an insurance bond for $250,000 and all kinds of crap to get one.  I had it though.  It expired after 1 year and after all the PITA to renew, I dropped it.

Now the rules are much more relaxed, no bond, and a multi year license.

My boss would let me carry at work, hell, he's probably let my sling my AR across my chest.  It's just too bad Fortune 500 company's frown upon brining guns to work [:(] .
