Well, today is my birthday, (56). Sometime ago, Steyr did a DSA group buy. Got me to thinking about another FAL. Looked at several STG-58's, (DSA). Decided to get an SA-58. I chose this one, http://www.dsarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=SA58MCCM&storeid=1&image=sa58medium.gif
I found one purchased in 2000, in UNFIRED condition up in WA state, ($1050 delivered), with options, over in the EE. It arrived Tuesday. Broke it in yesterday, seems very accurate, functioned flawlessly......Ordered a set of walnut furniture for it, it'll look REAL nice in walnut..    Happy birthday to me!!!

Heh, heh... No wifey here TJ, I do recall with fondness a good birthday surprise a couple of years ago, but I've been by myself for most of my life. I can be difficult to live with, as well as not making the best choices in women. So..... Beautiful morning here on the OR coast. It's Friday, I believe I'll do some garage sales, (I'm an addict!), take off the t-tops and go.......

yes officer, it was a black corvette, license plate # 05072, and he was swerving at people at what must have been 200mph, beer cans constantly coming out of the window, he hit 4 old ladies and a boy scout, you'd better catch him before he does something else...........[;)]

like the gun and the car though..........

You've got THAT right!! The mid 60's to 70' were very interesting times. The War. I recall the conflict here in USA quite well. San Francisco Love-ins, riding my M/C in the Santa Cruz mountains, after my discharge...
I'm VERY grateful to God, today is today, and we are all here alive and reasonably well........

At least you knew what I meant.  Why is it that the prettiest of the Vettes (like yours) also had to be the slowest?

At least it was a factory 4 speed. I put a five speed in, behind a 406, (400 block), stroker, Crane 3/4 race cam, blueprinted, balanced, yada, yada. Runs well..[:D]

Guess we could or would have to be geezers since the younger generation can't remember 120 octane gas 400+hp and the younger guys usually leave dark stain in their pants over 100mph.

Brand new Z06 has a touch over 400 HP if I remember correctly...
Mustang Cobra at a conservative 390?
Got a spare $80k? how about a 500/500/500 Viper?

I will sometimes go to the local airfield, and get the racing fuel. Use it 60/40 with hi-test gas. It ain't the 140+ MPH that gets 'em, it's how fast it gets there!! [:D]

The USA STI has 300 ponies and can do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, and hey it's only 2.5 liters and won't use 10 gallons per mile.

Happy Birthday, Duncan.

A scripture for you in your old age(I use it often):

All day long, I ran around thinking I turned 56.
Got to talking to an old military buddy last night, he pointed out he was 1 month younger than me, and he will be 55 in June!!

SO...... I'm a year younger this year!!! [snoopy]

... I've lived in the desert for years, owned cabins on the Mogollon Rim (7100ft) but I would give a nut to live in that type foliage.
