I recently purchased a .22LR suppressor.  Not being content to simply put it on a Walther P22 or a Ruger pistol, I took my CZ-75 9mm, got a .22LR Kadet kit, then had it threaded so I could practice with my full size pistol, using in inexpensive ammo, and suppressed - schwing!

Looks kind of like the rounds are keyholing on that target.  


But nice! I can't wait to get a can for my P-22.

I would check to be sure that the projectiles are not striking any of the suppressor baffles or the endcap.

Who did the threading job on the barrel?

It may be just the camera flash but in the photo "Suppressor_001", it almost looks like the endcap has some marks frrom bullet strikes.

You are getting baffle strikes!  You've probably already damaged your can.  You need to send that entire rig to someone who knows what they're doing (obviously not the person who did it) and have them repair it.  

What happens a lot with amateur suppressor manufacturers is that when they thread a barrel, they thread it concentrically to the OD of the barrel.

That would be fine, except that most standard-grade barrels' bores are not located in the physical center of the barrel.  

When a barrel is threaded, the threads need to be cut concentric to the CENTER of the bore, which is not the same thing at all.  When you follow the former procedure, this is the normal result.

That looks like a Tac-Ord can, which is a good thing because they can replace the baffles relatively cheaply.  You do need to send that barrel to Gemtech or Sound Technology, and have them rethread it.  It may not be salvageable due to length.

It might be the ammo - Aguila SSS (SniperSubsonic) is reknowned for keyholing.

I don't think they're keyholing or due to baffle strikes. His target is being shown from the back.

The oblong shapes are from a bullet going through a target sideways. Most [i]normal [/i]
  bullet holes are round regardless of whether you're looking from the front or back.

Look closely, those "oblong" holes are two or more shots, not one round hitting the target sideways.

First you say it looks like it does because the picture is taken from the back of the target.

NOW you say it's because of multiple shots stringing along the same axis. Despite the fact there are several of these "groups", and no other indication of grouped shots elsewhere on the target.

I've seen this before.  They are keyholing, and it IS baffle strikes causing it.

If you look closely, you can SEE the damage at the muzzle of the suppressor.
