This is secondhand, here-say at its best but I read somewhere that a post ban brake could be threaded on to a barrel if the thread pitch was one that was not compatible with any known flash hider. Has anyone else seen this? Even if its true, there is a gray area there the size of montana sky. Sounds like armchair legal advise to me!

I wondered what the hell a muscle break was.
Link Posted: 12/23/2001 11:29:43 AM EDT
JP Enterprises does it, and I got one. Pre-ban threading is 1/2 X 28 TPI Post ban varries, but they use 9/16 X 28 TP1 Got to http://www.jpar15.com/recoil.htm if you want to read about it yourself.

Its a fact. You can have a threaded barrel on a post ban rifle as long as no flash suppressor is made for it. Of course, if a flash suppressor becomes available for that thread then the threads must be removed or a permanently attached muzzle brake must be attached.

I got the same brake done on a Grade II rifle from JP. He did some excellent work. With the brake screwed on you cannot even see the seam, a true master. It came with a thread protector for when the brake is off the rifle.

I forgot to tell you guys this, but The other day I gave up and became an illiterate! Its just not worth it! Garandman; I wanted to put in a two week notice, but a mans got to do what a mans got to do. Now back to the subject at hand. When I read about this, I was thinking that it would be good for someone who wanted to do a little bit of tweaking as far as the clocking of the brake(break)went. But if Joe Blow decided to start building some device using that thread size that would create an instant criminal out of someone like Princeton and make him and his house subject to immolation.

Can I take a time out from the Spelling and go back to the original thread? [s]I can have a threaded 16 inch barrel is the threads are different that pre ban models. JT Distributing does this? do they sell the brake to go with this? Is there a link I missed?[/s] Is everyone having a great holiday so far? [:D] edited because I found the info I overlooked in the begining, but the last question still stands

My holiday just got better! I am back from the whiskey store. That healthy, Ellie Mae Clampett looking cashier asked me to come back later and let her know how my christmas went!(no visable ring) After she finds out that I gave up and became an illiterate though, she prolly wont give me the time of day! (I can use prolly now)
