Any day now the Muslims will also sue the US Taxpayers for Reparations. They'll claim 17th & 18th Century Arab Slave Traders were cheated by English Colonists in New England & they want a Fair Market Value for all those Slaves they sold at low prices. But in the mean time their current racket is suing Whirlpool for not being enough Culturally Sensitive...Ah-ha, ha, It's a Keeper...Hee, hee... _________________ Muslims Allege Bias at Whirlpool Plant May 03, 2002 3:16:00 PM ET WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A group of current and former Muslim employees of Whirlpool Corp. (WHR) are suing the biggest U.S. appliance maker, alleging religious discrimination at a Tennessee factory. A group of 16 employees at a factory in La Vergne, Tennessee, filed a lawsuit against Whirlpool alleging a ''consistent pattern of religious discrimination,'' according to a statement released on Friday from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The suit, filed on Monday in U.S. District Court for the Middle of Tennessee, claims that Muslim employees were denied the right to pray at work, despite repeated requests for religious accommodation, the Council said. The suit seeks an order forcing Whirlpool to provide reasonable accommodation for the plaintiffs' religious practices, $310,000 in compensatory damages, and punitive damages for the emotional pain and suffering caused by the discrimination. The plaintiffs in the suit allege that plant supervisors followed Muslim employees to the restroom to ensure that they did not pray during their breaks, the Council said. Employees also allege they were terminated after being discovered praying. ``Whirlpool has created and fostered an extremely hostile and humiliating work environment for those of the Muslim faith, particularly among its Somali workers, subjecting them to personal humiliation and emotional distress,'' the complaint said. The Council said repeated attempts at mediation were rejected by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said in a statement that the company has not yet seen the suit and it does not comment on pending legal action. ``The company, however, can state categorically that harassment of any sort against an employee -- be it for reasons of sex, age, color, race, disability, religion, ancestry, sexual preference or national origin-- is prohibited by Whirlpool in all its global facilities,'' Whirlpool said. The Benton Harbor, Michigan-based company said previous complaints at the La Vergne plant were investigated by the company and the federal government's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which it said had dismissed all complaints. A tentative hearing date for the suit has been set for July 15, said Council on American-Islamic Relations spokeswoman Hodan Hassan. ``There may be some hope from mediation at this point,'' she said. The factory employs about 2,000 workers and makes dehumidifiers, room air conditioners, and built-in refrigerators, Whirlpool spokesman Steve Duthie said. Whirlpool said it has taken steps to accommodate its Muslim work force at the La Vergne plant, whose size ranges from about 150 to 500 employees depending on demand for the products there. The accommodations include food that complies with Islamic dietary requirements, permitting prayer in certain areas of the factory, and diversity training for supervisors, the appliance maker said.

So now every company in the US has to build a synaguoge(sp?) mosque(sp?) catholic and baptist church at everyone of its facilities? What a bunch of FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!! Who comes up with this!!! Damn near anywhere else in the world this would not be tolerated. How many christians that work overseas especially in the middle east get to have special places to pray? You get killed being a christian over there!! This shit has to stop. If you want to pray, pray at home or in your church. Go to work to work!![pissed] [beer]

Not to demean those actually having to put up with this crap, but these examples illustrate the the hypocrisy our forces have to deal with when they are used by the State Department as babysitters and 'peacekeepers'. The oily Saudis wanted us to come defend their turf and Kuwait's, but leave our identity behind. Fuck 'em. And I gotta say the fault lies with the Pentagon as much as the Excutive branch for even entertaining the notion.

Looks to me like unless we stop it, we are going to have Islam shoved up our asses.

You guys don't know the half of it. The news article's writer for the local newsrag that broke the story is also a Muslim female. She has an average of about one article a week praising/showing off the Muslim locals. I wrote her a scathing e-mail once & she suggested I write a "letter to the editor". She never replied when I answered that I wouldn't want to give her any more publicity. The local backlash seems to be "life's a bitch, go elsewhere if you don't like it". :)

I am sure they would have been executed on the spot if the plant was run by *some* of the people who frequent this site.
