I'm assuming this is a shotgun round and he still had a pistol? They might have only issued beanbag rounds to avoid offices mixing up ammo and using buckshot when they meant to use beanbag rounds, and they were expected to switch to their pistol to use more lethal force. Personally I'd rather drop the shotgun with the bean bag rounds and go to a pistol v.s trying to switch loads in a fight.

That only says that they had other rounds at their disposal. That could mean on their person or in their vehicle. It doesn't address whether they were ordered to only use bean bags.

I've noticed lately that all upper members of managment are useless. They just write up these new insane ideas to try desperately to show they are still relevant to THEIR bosses.

Hourly workers like me = PFC's = Some good/some bad.
department managers = NCO's = Mostly good.
Store management = low ranking CO's = somewhat useful
Their bosses = Useless turds
Owners = Somewhat ok, posibly well intentioned but stupid.

What we regular people need to do is just start ignoring them. If your working somewhere & they tell you something stupid, just say "yeah sure whatever" & then go right back to your work ignoring them.
Or maybe we should all just go into work & say "thru ya'lls idiocy, we've lost business & since that effects us, we have decided that we are taking over the company. Now get out."

Its stupidity on the part of Americans and its plain intent by other Americans and politicians.

Certain portions of our populations and certain individuals in our government have no desire to solve any border problems.

To many of them the problem is the rest of us who care about the border.

The border patrol exists to look busy, the UAVs they get will do more to prevent any real action being taken than they will contribute to taking real action.

We should have the BP do what they really should do, enforce border security against foreign invasion, Or we should de-fund the BP all together and let society work it out.

The criminals along the border are for real, they arent there to play bean bag games, they play for keeps and they are going to figure out real soon, if they have not already that the USA is a big push over.

If they dont do anything too extreme suddenly, they can continue to go on about their business of rape, robbery, murder, kidnapping, drug smuggling, the occasional shooting or killing of a BP agent.. etc... with only the occasional bust or inconvenience.

If you are working BP, you must feel a bit like a pawn with your hands tied, It seems the criminal invaders have more rights in our own country than those we pay to supposedly protect the border...

First thing...Bean bag rounds aren't fun to get shot with. To call them "less than lethal" is a bit misleading. If you got hit with half a dozen of them, they could kill you.

Second thing...They shouldn't even be in service with the border patrol. The Border/Customs agents should carry nothing less than full-bore military grade buckshot and other LETHAL ammo in all duty weapons. Border agents aren't mall cops or college patrol.

When a border agent discharges a weapon, they should expect the recipient of that delivery to fall down DEAD. IMHO, the lightest thing with a bore longer than 4 inches in the hands of the BP should be an M4 Carbine with appropriate optics for night work.
