My wife and I have decided that Rhode Island sucks and it's time to leave. We're looking for somewhere warm, preferably where it does not snow. The main piont is to live somewhere "gun friendly", if there is such a place. This is where you all come in, need to know what's it like out there where you are. Greatly appreciate all the info you can supply, thank-you.

You need to offer up a budget...

KY/WV are both very gun friendly. I live on the border so I get to enjoy the freedom of both.

Are you taking employment opportunities into considerations? Are you willing to trade cold winters for hot and humid summers?

Maybe you would do ok in a place like Virginia. It is only really cold for a couple of months out of the yea and we get snow, but usually not very much and it usually is all melted within a week.
It does get hot an humid in the summer sometimes, but it only lasts a month or so.

The job market is pretty good here too, but best of all, Virginia is pretty much a gun friendly state.

Good luck with your search.

It doesn't snow inside, here in Ohio. Warm in here, too.

WV sounds OK to me.

low taxes, gun friendly and not very cosmopolitan.

Just hope you have a job situation figured out first.

Thanks for the info so far. Budget would be around $200,000 or so for a home, jobs should not be a problem, company wife works for is nation wide with offices in almost all states and as for myself, I work in the automotive industry, and everyone owns a car. You folks are a tremendous help, keep the info coming.

South Florida:

- No state income tax.
- Plenty of jobs for many industries.
- Great weather for most of the year and the heat and hurricanes ain't that damn bad. The surf (ocean water) temp this past weekend was 75F and it's still March.
- Real estate anywhere near the ocean is kicking more ass than you could believe. Our place is new construction about 4 miles from the beach and went up 36% in 9 months.
- Great gun laws.
- Loaded handguns in your unlocked glove box with no CCW needed.
- The Bahamas are ~60 miles away.

Stay away from AZ. Barbaric gun laws and rampant illegals. and too close to CA. try elsewhere.

I just bought a nice brick ranch on 40 acres, less than 20 minutes from one of our biggest cities for well under that amount. So I think you would be ok on the home part.

Shall issue CCW state, class 3 friendly, low taxes, bearable winters and summers. Overall not a bad place. If you have a job or a marketable skill.
