Movie Ticket Prices

How much does it cost to see a movie where you live? Does this effect what movies you go to see?

I know prices here in NYC are ridic I pay about 10.50 at least and some places its up to 12 per ticket. It makes me less likely to go see everything that catches my eye. I'd rather wait and get it on netflix or something

Hey!

Movie prices here are $7.00. No too bad. But I am so hearing impaired I wait for the DVDs so I can get closed captions at the bottom of the screen.

PS. See "City of God", "City of Lost Children", and "Das Boot".

City of God was a great movie.
It has to be fucking spectacular for me to see it in theaters.
Thank God for online movie (Netflix pissed me off so I go with Blockbuster)

Matinees only pretty much now--$5-6. Regular shows are $8-9. $12 is fucking ridiculous!

Despite being guilty of "throttling" (holding back shipments for customers they believe are renting too "efficiently") Netflix can at least get you discs on the actual day of their DVD release, something Blockbuster, for some unexplained reason, cannot. Blockbuster was also unable to explain why titles in my queue clearly marked Available Now never shipped. As in most other business aspects, Blockbuster's anal/cranial relationship is obvious. I used my Free 1-Month Trial then switched to Netflix.
