I saw this video about a year ago, but it is older than that.  I first heard of it as an "entry" to a Paris cycle club, where the applicant has to do a lap of the Peripherique in a certain time.  In this case, the rider times in at 11:04 over 21.8 miles, making an average speed of 118mph.

I can't understand the narration, but I believe it was a "time trial".  The rider had to make the lap in order to get in this club.

Um, dude, I think you made it.  Now just stay alive.
