Hey,

I know it's instinct to not hit something in the road, whether it's a cat, or a dog, or a fox.

But listen when I tell you this: Hit the fucking thing.

As you can see it isn't worth trying to avoid/brake.

People wreck their cars trying to avoid pets/objects in the road.

If you can't avoid it, no matter what wild control inputs you do...just hit the fucking thing.

I think he hit it.
His bike went end over end, not low side.
Of course he might have slowed down enough that when he grabbed a big handful of front brake he did an uncontrolled stoppie and biffed it.

+1000 on hitting animals instead of swerving to avoid them.

I hit a cat on my GpZ1100, stupid thing walked out in front of my bike.
I was doing over a 100 mph, I spent the next three days getting rid of the fur and guts from the bike.

Looked to me like he hit it, too.  Bike flipped and you could see the animal being tossed in a different direction.

I almost hit a cat-sized rat in Baltimore, but slowed down enough before hitting it.  One of my professors there clipped a deer at speed on his FZR.  He broke an arm and had a tiny bit of road rash where his leathers failed, IIRC.  He stripped the fairing off and ran his bike as a ratbike for a while afterwards.

My wife and I just had this talk with our teenage drive.  If an animal runs in front of your vehicle, HIT IT!  Don't serve, don't slam on the breaks, just hit the animal.  People have died serving to avoid an animal.
