Are you kidding me?  First off, the kid already had all the vaccinations that he needed (according to the story)  Second of all, the parents specifically told the school not to vaccinate their child.  The "state" had no right to do so.  I remember that they recalled some vaccine here in the States because it had trace levels of mercury in it, and was doing harm to those who received it.  Some vaccines are remotely linked to autism, etc.  Why pump your kids full of this crap?  Take the chickenpox vaccine for instance.  Pediatricians today are passing out pamphlets distributed by the American Academy of Pediatrics trying to scare parents into giving this to their child.  (stating that every year, x number of kids die from chickenpox)  You know, I had chickenpox when I was a kid.  Everyone I KNOW had chickenpox when they were kids.  They're not dead.  

It's all about the "state" trying to dictate the lives of private citizens.  That's why this is a "big deal."
