(Baldwin-WABC, October 11, 2004) — A mother, who is also a New York corrections officer, has been found murdered in Baldwin. Now police are questioning her son.

The victim's name is Gale Clark. She was 48-years-old and about to retire from being a captain with the New York City Corrections Police . She lived on the surburban street in Baldwin. In fact, her house was up for sell because she planned to move out of state upon her retirement but now she is dead.

According to police, they received a phone call from a tipster just after midnight who said something had just happened at 575 Rose Boulevard. They say a young man with a gun and a car had been in front of the house. Police responded and Nassau Police Lieutenant took it from there.

Lt. Kevin Smith, Nassau County Police: "At that time, we discovered the body of Mrs. Clark when it was inside. She apparently had been fatally stabbed. Preliminary indications is that she was fatally stabbed. Our homicide investigators are handling the case and now her 15-year-old son is being interviewed."

At this point, it is known from police that she has been stabbed and police say it was 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon that Clark was stabbed. Although it wasn't reported that she was in bed until after midnight last night. Clark's 15-year-old son, who is a high school student at Hicksville is being questioned but no arrests have been made.
