Ok who is your pick for most under rated actor?  Now this is a very good actor that maybe just doesn't get the staring roles or face time that he deserves.

My vote:

Tim Curry

Christopher Walken , played in many movies as a supporting role only,
but could steal the scene every time.

Ding ding ding!

Yup, he was the first Ryan they ran into after the sniper scene.

Just about EVERY actor named so far has been awesome!

Definitely Harvey Keitel.

Max Bear (Jethro on Beverly Hillbillies).

Paul Bettany.

He starred as the doctor in Master and Commander; as the killer monk in The Da Vinci Code; and as the poet (Geoffrey Chaucer) in A Knight's Tale, and a host of other movies and TV roles. Very wide range of roles in what he's done.

My vote goes for Jean Reno

The Professional, opposite Gary Oldman (my favorite movie)

Ronin

Rollerball

Wasabi

Among other, less known roles; oh, I almost forgot; he also gave the voice and likeness for French Police Commander Jacques Blanc in the PS2 game "Onimusha 3 - Demon Siege"

RE:  Bruce campbell:  I used to agree but after seeing "Alien Apocalypse" I'm starting to wonder...

Not to mention the fact that he really only can play one part well.  That of the wisecracking, bumbling hero (Ash, Brisco County Jr.).  Actually, has he ever done anything else?

Man you guys are inside my mind!  Gary Oldman and Jean Reno are at the top of my list.  If I ever made a movie those two guys would have to be in it.

I also think Clive Owen is pretty good.  I could see him in a lot of interesting roles at least (his short cameo in Bourne Identity seemed like a good character).

Bob Hoskins

The man can do anything, any genre, brilliantly but is all but ignored/forgotten...

Chuck Norris

William H. Macy
I liked his work in "The Cooler".
And he worked with Maria Bello in that one.

And that exactly it.

Not even the biggies like Al Pacino act anymore, they just keep getting picked for the same general part in every movie.

Gary Oldman is a character actor, he turns into different people.

Yeah, he is a brilliant actor but definitely plays a much darker Batman than the classic witty generic superhero character.

IMO, the Christian Bale Batman is much better than any of the other classic Batman actors.

So did Michael Keaton.  I like the darker Batman stuff.  The wisecracking Batman comes off as hokie to me.

Gary Oldman is at the top but Ethan Hawke and Ed Norton are excellent too.

If Sean Penn wasn't such a butthead, I'd include him but now I don't go to see any films with him in it. Or Michael Douglas, for that matter.

Danny Trejo

If I'm looking at a B movie and see him listed I'll rent it. Everytime.

many good canidates listed, but I'll second William H. Macy. It's a crying shame the guy never gets leading roles. Though he was lead in a movie opposite Laura Dern, who played his wife. Throughly enjoyed the movie.

I really think that William Fichtner (spelling?) is one of the most under rated actors out there. Whatever part he plays he does it seemlessly.

He is the commander in Armegeddon and one of the Deltas in BHD among other stuff.

Charles Durning.
He went ashore on 6/6/44, and survived the Malmedy Massacre.

Ok, I like Bruce Campbell.

+1 William Fichtner

From the scumbag Van Zant in Heat to the Delta in Black Hawk Down. I thought he was funny as the cop/Amway freak in "Go" also.
