Just ordered the Shockwave from PSA.

What are you all doing for after market accessories?

Just did a sidesaddle shell holder and a picatinny rail. Put a small green laser on the rail messing around last night. Mesa tactical sidesaddle fit nice, seems well made. I bought a mini clip too, but can't find any minishells in stock for a reasonable price.

Make your own.

It's super easy with a roll crimp and a drill.

Make any length you want, even custom lengths.

I'm gonna put a big dot front sight on still and maybe a half inch riser and mount a micro small light

What kind of laser, and does it stand up to the recoil?

Crimson trace CMR-206 for shotguns
I hope it doesn't drift with the recoil, I will see

Definitely take the time to stipple the grip. It's slippery and you'll be gripping it a lot more tightly to compensate for it.

That would be slick one to put on a GG&G rail that mounts forward of the pump, but again will take the recoil and possibly muzzle blast.

Not to mention when you go to sell it you can label it as super custom and list it for $200 more than a brand new factory gun.

I don't know about all that but it certainly improved the recoil forward skooch when shooting.

I looked one over and the very first thing I would is get shed of that forend strap and de-burr the holes, then put a couple wraps of vet tape around the "stock" till someone comes out with a thinner one I could order.

I'd like to see a new grip/forend combo by Pachmayr for it.

I think a side saddle would be a poor idea as I would want it as "slick" as I could get it.

I'd consider the mini-shells after I studied-up on their effectiveness at close range. I saw one defensive load from Herters that had a 0.65" round lead ball, backed by six No. 1 buckshot pellets.

Question. Is there a reason no one is switching out the shockwave grip for an AR buffer tube and pistol brace?
Link Posted: 7/2/2017 9:21:45 AM EDT
[#17]
A word on a 5mw green lasers. I used to have one that was pen light sized. We used them at work and they were damn bright. The gave the bouncers one each and instead of radios we would use them to point out people or swirl it around straight up to call in help to one spot. They were obvious as fuck in a dark nightclub highlighted by the fog machines. Anyway it was also so damn bright that when I'd get to my girlfriend's house (now wife) I would use it like a flashlight. Shining it on the ceiling would illuminate the entire room. Not as bright as flipping the light switch, or as good as modern high lumen flashlight, but enough that you could see where you were going and if there was anything on the floor to trip over. Based on my past experience I was already considering a green laser for my Shockwave for getting on target fast but also because I know it's bright enough to substitute for a flashlight.
ETA: Not bright enough at all. My memory was way off. If I point it at the ceiling it reflects off the white paint and works nicely, pointed anywhere else and it is not nearly as bright. I was wrong.

Sweet! I'm curious if it will run into the forearm when in the forward position or if it's clear.

ETA: I wish it was canted upward at a 45°.

Pro-tip...

Rather than permanently altering the gun, try this. Go and buy a $9 bicycle tube at Walmart.
I tend to use somewhat narrow ones, so that they fit tight. Cut a section, and stretch the shit
out of it over the stock. Best grippy surface ever! I will be doing this to my Shockwave today.
here's a pick of my K-bar with this treatment. I think it looks pretty cool too.

No need for stippling or tape or inner tube, put some AGrip on the stock.

I stippled my shockwave grip years ago. Besides that I left my home built one alone.

CMR-206 on a receiver rail. The more I thought about it the more I thought the laser would be vulnerable to some kind of impact damage. I put some slugs and buck through it at the range and the zero did not walk. Pretty sweet to hit a Coke bottle from the hip with a slug.

Almost done with mine. Sidesaddle, crimson trace green laser, big tritium dot front sight. I took off the streamlight TLR-1HL, it was just too bulky. Put on a little Monstrum LED CR2 light with the gg&g mount. It will do unless I find something smaller and just as bright. The last thing I want to do is put on my metal safety, but I need to find out how to get that weird screw out and find a normal one.

I installed a factory 590 tactical heat shield on one last night. It took some KY, a hammer, and some profanity, but it does fit and work with longer screws. You do lose the front sight but...whatever.

Oh FFS adding a brace won't change the classification. Black Aces already sells this:

So there's no reason you cannot stick a brace on a shockwave. Feverish handwringing is feverish handwringing as usual

That being said I'd honestly for once opt for the Sig brave instead of the Blade in the case

Are you hitting the laser switch with your trigger finger? I moved mine to the back of the rail to hit with my thumb after pushing the safety forward. I will most likely get that same GG&G mount for a flashlight.

Do you think it will creep forward from recoil? As far as that front sight goes I'm not sure why they even bothered with it.

According to the letter the ATF sent Mossberg, concealing on your body it makes it into an AOW if I remember correctly. That doesn't even involve changing any parts. I tend to tread cautiously when a federal weapons charge may be involved.
