Child's ice cream stolen
             at gunpoint

A six-year-old girl had her ice cream stolen at
             gunpoint, police have confirmed.

             The child was with two boys, aged two and
             four, when they were approached by three
             youths in Sydenham, south east London, last
             Friday evening.

             One of the youths aimed the gun at the girl's
             head and demanded her ice cream.

             The boys involved in the theft are described as
             black and aged between 14 and 18.

             The Metropolitan Police are appealing for
             witnesses.

             Detective Constable Owen Tim said: "The
             police are treating this investigation seriously
             as the children are sure they were threatened
             with a firearm."

             The incident happened in an area of London
             which has become notorious for gun crimes.

             In May a pregnant woman was shot by one of
             the occupants of a car with which her vehicle
             had collided in nearby Streatham.

If they would hurry up and ban guns here I could corner the ice cream stealin' market!

Did they say if the weapons had the new home-boy-sights? [smoke]

Heavens an ice cream bar, guess they can use the new high powered weapons that the police bought to patrol the ice cream districts. It just ain't crickett anymore in merry ole england, home of the socialist, and subjects of the crown.

Sorry, the overprotective parent in me coming out.

Anytime I mention gun crime in the UK to my wife's relatives (British) their stock replies are:

"Oh, that's all drugs related- that won't ever touch us."

"Oh, that's all the West Indian 'Yardies' (read: BLACK drugs dealers..)-there are no Yardies in our town."

"Oh, they must be getting all their guns smuggled in from the USA- that's the only place left in the world that sells guns."

So: it's all the fault of a) drug dealers b) blacks and c) the Yanks that there's a gun problem in Britain....
