... Seen a lot of new login names with high post counts lately. Why did you change your moniker or "handle"? Why would you do that?

WHAT! You mean I can change my log in name? I thought I was stuck with this one forever.

I actually noticed this and posted about it four months or so back. It ended up in the trash bin somehow.

But even before it got trashed, almost nobody who had switched names had fessed up to their old screen names. I found that odd.

BTW, for everyones info, the person formerly known here as BATMAN has changed his name to Duke Nukem (or so he has informed me).

This actually kind of pisses me off, as I put my hard earned money towards his team membership on the condition that his name would be BATMAN.

Well, I like changing my avatar once in awhile, but don't feel the need to change my handle.

Besides, even though I've been here since way before the "new" site started, I have a pitiful post count. Nobody probably knows who the hell I am anyway! [BD]

Cheers,
Chris

I have always been satcong ever since three and a half years ago when I joined, and I also have an alter ego named Flagwaver but, alas, no one cares.

Ya, thanks for doing that Goatboy. I tried several times via email to get the party who was intrusted in getting him his membership to follow through. But to no avail.

Of course, I still couldn't help but give him a hard time for changing his screen name. He'll always be BATMAN to me................

While I've always had the same moniker, I did consider changing the 86 to 88! Before ya freak out, 88 is the year I got sober, after 25 years of alcoholic drinking. I much later learned what 88 means. Might have been kinda fun in the long run, but I would have been quite confused at the responses to my posts at first!
86 is just a # I picked out of thin air...It don't mean nuthin'....
I do wonder why guys change though, confuses the hell out of me. Tryin' to bury the past perhaps??

I always thought it was a well chosen number tied in with Liberty signifying our Liberties are being trashed...

Wayyy back in '98,'99 or '00, I can't remember exactly when, I think I had "Rifleman." It was with the old board. As the way it goes, I had been away for awhile and the account got axed. So when I came back in early '01, I chose Wobblin' Goblin. For a reason.

The new board coding forced me to change mine.  I used to be Don R

And the reason is?

Do you pilot or work on the 117?

This is my 2000th post.    And although I've thought about changing to a handle that isn't closely related to my real name,  I haven't decided to do so just yet.

Partly, that's because I can't think of a fictional (or non-fictional) character that is both suitable in terms of expected personality AND that I can find a good looking drawing or picture of (for an avatar).

Maybe "Slig", from the Oddworld games...

Or maybe this handsome devil:

I really should change my handle, but I'm known as 95thFoot on so many boards, it might get confusing, mostly to me..[%|].....

Our reenactment group doesn't even want to be the 95th Foot (Rifles) anymore, so maybe I should think up something else for a screen name after all.....Hmmm....[>:/]
