Modifying a C&R SKS

I've just about finished cleaning my yugo. Now for the stupid question. Since this weapon is a C&R is it OK to remove the bayonet lug and Bayonet? I really can't see a use for them. Would that simply revert it to the 89 and 94 rules? Or is it forbidden to modify a C&R? If it does revert it to the other rules would that then allow me 1 bad feature? Unless I'm mistaken the lug is the only one currently on the rifle.

Normally, the bayo lug wouldn't be allowed on a post-'89 imported rifle at all. The only reason it IS allowed is because it is a C&R rifle.

Yes, you can remove the bayonet, but the rifle must comply with the Import Ban and the Krime Bill, meaning you can't add any additional features (though, provided you don't live in the PRK, you can use detachable mags).
