Which means less snow on the east coast, warmer drier south, very dry southwest and very cold/snowy in the northwest and midwest.

Pretty good, it's just to early to tell if the La Nina will be strong or weaker. There's definately a La Nina in effect, the question is how strong will it be.

Last year was a bitch. It wasn't all that cold and the amount of snow we got wasn't bad... it was just that winter lasted 6 fucking months.

Another one of those and they can take me to a nice rubber lined room.

There was a weak/moderate La Nina during the 2007-08 winter and I think WA got some good snow. This La Nina may be stronger, there are predictions that it may be the strongest since '55. Then again, who knows for sure.

Missouri had a psudo-fall about 4 weeks back. Trees were dropping leafs like mad.

3 days later, back to summer trees.

I've never seen such a thing. We weren't even in a drought to have explained that nonsense.

honestly I think I have PTSD from being snowed in for weeks at a time

we are in s.w. neb. and didn't get hardly any snow. the spring stayed cool tho.

We had 13 fucking inches of snow in Dallas last year. Fuck that, I don't put up with 100 degree summers to deal with 13 fucking inches of snow. Damned global warming.

We've had some mornings in the 40s lately. Though it got up to 90 or so today, the next few days are only supposed to hit the low 70s. We've had some bushes and trees showing some color already. This is Colorado at 6K ft elevation. I've heard that aspen in the high country are turning as well.

The eruptions from Mount Sinaburg and Keragentang in Indonesia will efect the weather here in the US.

Currently the Sinaburg is clearing its throat and after the future main eruption it will change the weather pattern around the world.

I'm starting to see some change of color here in MT (3,000 feet) but only in a few trees. A few leaves on the ground. Temps have been all over the chart. 80's the past couple of days to 50's and rain today. Low 60's and rain in the forecast for the next week. We've had a couple of winter storm watches/warnings for above 6,500 in the past few weeks.

Last year it was like someone threw a switch. Went from normal fall to all the leaves dropping off the trees within a week or so the first week of October.

I'm also keeping an eye on the 2 street cats that hang around my place. So far no real change in fur growth on either of them and I've still got flowers on some of the plants in the yard.

I had my bike put away for only 4 months last winter but it sure seemed much longer than that. We got about 20" the last of Nov./first of Dec. and it stayed all winter long. I also don't think it ever got above ~ 25º from that time until mid March. So that shit, and the rest of the storms hardly ever melted off the streets and sidewalks. Talk about having cabin fever! I sure hope we don't have another like last one.

That;s an interesting metric. I have noticed that when the dogs and cats down in Houston start putting out serious fur that it's going to be cold and wet.

I hope so. If its going to be cold enough for snow, there better be snow on the ground. Last year was the first time in years where we had snow all winter. Plus, the kids need a good snow fort.
