Why does a mirror on mirror image get smaller and smaller? Two flat mirrors.

Assuming no magnets or treadmills involved.

Perspective.

If they were placed face to face, touching, the reflections would not shrink.

This. Something a foot away looks slightly smaller than something an inch away.

So a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away of a reflection of something a foot away

Wide field of view coupled with a short distance to the object. If you were an infinite distance from the mirror but could see it well (infinite zoom) the mirrors would not decrease in size.

Because you're seeing further and further away with each reflection.

So as I stand back, I'm actually fatter than I appear??

I'll have to read the links. I believe the image is smaller obviously but don't see why. The mirror also reflects the perspective of your distance from it is the basic principle?

Is this thread about standing between two mirrors, trying to decide if your ass looks fat in those pants? You do have pants on, right?

If you put two mirrors one in front of you and another one behind you, you can see your self before you see your self.  You basically complete the loop, and see your self in the future but return the image back from the future in the past.  Kinda mostly neat, mostly

LOL WUT?

You can't see yourself in the future. Any reflection takes time to get back to your eyes.  You can only see yourself in the past.

Can you dial in a specific time in the future by moving one of the mirrors in front of you closer or farther away? "I think I'll see what I look like next month if I eat three pieces of pie tomorrow."

Because...that would be kinda mostly neat, mostly

...unless I'm completely bald, or there is no reflection.
No reflection would suck.

The reflected image does not get smaller.  It always appears the same relative size as the object.

Yes, but you have to used LED lighting.  LED light speeds up the image transfer.

How does the image change if the mirror is on a treadmill?
