The volunteer border patrol group Minuteman Civil Defense Corp released video footage of an incursion by a unit of the Mexican army across the U.S. frontier in Arizona.

The video, shot in 2004, is being released in response to recent news reports that more than 200 incursions by the Mexican army have been documented since 1996.

The group says it sent footage to then-Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, but his office did not respond.

In the 2004 incident, Minuteman leader Chris Simcox and a group of volunteers said they encountered a squad of about eight armed Mexican soldiers some 500 yards inside the United States.

The Mexican soldiers ran back through the brush to Mexico when they realized they had been spotted, the Minuteman volunteers said.

In the video, a uniformed Mexican soldier is seen climbing through a barbed wire fence on American soil to return to the Mexican side and catch up with his colleagues.

The soldiers retreated up a hill to a group of abandoned buildings at a ranch where military transport vehicles with more soldiers could be seen.

Later, a group of armed Mexican soldiers returned to the barbed wire fence on American soil and confronted Simcox and the volunteers.

An agitated soldier told the Americans they had no business being there, but the Minuteman members did not move. The soldiers then drove off.

Simcox believes, based on earlier activity observed at the ranch, that the volunteers had disrupted a trafficking operation.

Got it to work.

But I call every one knows that didn't happen. Our .gov said so. It was staged.

How has the media not picked this up? And how could the US government tolerate any foreign troops that were not invited? I would have several SEAL teams waiting the next time they came.

Very interesting!

Unfortunately nothing will be done about this or any of the incidents where the Mexican Army has come and will come on our soil because Washington DC doesn't care.

I wonder what would happen if, oh some dead bodys were found on US property and they were foreign military ?

nothing to see here, move along. look people you should have realized by now that Jorge isn't going to do shit about the invasion so just deal with it.

Lame.....

from what I understand,

mexican .mil: what are you doing here?

minuteman: we're from the media....

tell it like it is, tell them you are the Minuteman....

If it really comes down to defending our borders, I won't be carrying a video camera.... it'd be something more effective.....

The current admin will wait for the Mexican govt to take over GWB's ranch before taking action. It's not enough to have millions of criminals here and more coming in every day with military escorts.

Then the Mex Soldier goes on to say:" Are you with immigration? Why are you here? We're working the border for illegals. Why are you taping us? It make us very uncomfortable to be taped while doing our work. Anyway, thank you."

Then Mex soldier leaves.

I'm glad I wasnt there! I have no patience for this crap. I think I would have drawn down as soon the guys started toward me.

Which fence was the border? The one right in front of the camera or the distant fence?

That's it in a nutshell. Not just GWB, but all of that type. If it doesn't affect the "elite" and the string-pullers, tough shit for the rest of us.

armed, foreign military on american soil? does that sound like invasion, or maybe even occupation? might as well just sell the border states to mexico and be done with it.

Or, the government could man up and go on a punitive expedition. Or just control our borders.

Send the National Guard & Reserves to the border. They want to play.

Whats the big deal, they didn't try to conquer any territory or anything
all they are doing is escorting drug dealers, couriers, sex slavers and terrorists

Where was the border? The camera guy was standing right behind a fence.

Were the Mexicans on the US side or the Mexican side?

What would happen would be a HUGE witch-hunt investigation resulting in murder charges (probably pre-meditated murder) against those who defended the border.

Sidearms only is what I have heard.

Course at the range those guys were I would feel fairly confident with my S&W.

But the question has yet to be answered, where were they? I saw the fence right in front of the camera, a fence to thier *Correction, the fence to thier side and the one near the house are the same.*

Which is the border?

A lot of them are better armed than they say they are.

A lot of them are better armed than Simcox thinks they are.

Without proof of where they are, there is no telling the difference of what seems to be and what really is. Despite the lack of evidence of location, I dont doubt that it happen/ is happening. The thought of a foreign military tramping around on American soil gets me really pissed off.

Well...........Suffice it to say that if the guys doing the filming were on Mexican soil they would have been arrested.
If the Mexicans were on U.S. soil they wouldn't have come on over on camera and struck up a conversation.
That leads me to believe that both were on their respective sides.
If ANYONE thinks they don't cross over and actively aid drug dealers, extort from illegals and generally flaunt our borders, you're smoking the dope they bring across to you.

what a bunch of pussies these minutemen are.

Mexican soldier on US soil? Shoot 'em. That will scoot your cause right up to the front of the line.

If (repeat if) these soldiers were on US soil, I'm sure it wasn't part of any planned, sanctioned Mexican effort. I'm sure there are some Mexican field commanders that are in cahoots with durg traffickers, etc, but to think this is an "invasion" is moronic.

Well come on down big boy and show these "pussies" how to shoot.
Scoot the cause up huh.......More like the Americans would be prosecuted for murder, the mexicans family would get millions and a formal apology from Jorge Bush.

Ok what would happen if a group of Mexican came across a well armed experianced group on our side of the border and after the "firefight" the Americans just melted away into the brush?
Would the Mexican Gov. Stage a loud protest that their people were ambushed while they were on American soil?
Or would it be kept hush hush and our Gov.starts sending many people to the area to "investigate"?
I am not advocating anything just asking a question.

The bodies would be hauled back across the border, photographed there, then Mex. Gov. would claim it happened on Mex soil.......
Link Posted: 1/22/2006 1:07:46 PM EDT
I agree with other posters... It difficult to know if they are across the border or not. It could, of course, be proven by showing the location of the building as on U.S. side of the fence. But, just from the vid, you really can't tell.

I'm amused by the people who talk about shooting it out with them. While what they are doing isn't right (if you believe the vid, which is probably true.) They are not threatening anyone, the rifles are slung, they aren't even being pushy.
Killing someone who is just standing there or crossed 500yds over a line is no small thing.

Hey, if they are transporting drugs, robbing, raping, etc... I say go to work on them. They were probably lost or goofing off.

I say the wall is a great idea... Some 240's on it would be a nice touch too

It's been done. They also had an incident where Mexican soldiers landed on a guys ranch in a helicopter and tried hijacking a fuel truck (likely to smuggle drugs in it) but left after numerous ranch hands with semi-auto AK's showed up and out-numbered them. Both governments denied anything had happened.

I agree too. I'm gung-ho as the next guy in engaging corrupt Mexican military on our side of the border but nothing in that video indicates they were doing anything wrong. Granted I don't speak Spanish so for all I know they were telling the Americans that they were going to kill their family...

Have the Minutemen ever stated where the border was in that video?

Exactly what I was thinking. There was a fence just a couple of feet in front of the camera and the Mehicanos Soldados were 50-100 yards on the other side of it.

IIRC, from the reporter (Geraldo?) who went down there last year and caused a stink by climbing thru the fence and back again, the actual border is several feet south of the fence. Being at or North of the fence puts one well inside the US.

ETA: Three simple words for the camera guy...Cheap Portable Tripod. I have a headache now from watching all the camera motion. If you're going to do a zoom shoot, have a stable platform.

It was Hannity, and the leftist liberal media wanted HIM charged with illegally entering the country
(seriously, they complained to the BP and LEOs to get them to act on his illegal border crossing)

Hypothetical Situation: What do you think would happen if you were a good 500 yrds. away and shot at their truck, while it was on US soil, is that legal? Cause wouldn't it be defending our borders from a foreign army? Would they shoot back? I would hope so, that way it would become too big of a shit storm for people to ignore.
