McDonald's and Finley's Management Co. agreed Friday to the tentative settlement, with that money to be shared by Dearborn Heights resident Ahmed Ahmed, a Detroit health clinic, the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn and lawyers.

I imagine the chicken was chicken.

Islam forbids consumption of pork, and God's name must be invoked before an animal providing meat for consumption is slaughtered.

Not sure how you would prove or disprove that God's name wasn't invoked before slaughter, but in most fast food restaurants you can see the fryers so probably saw a box that wasn't marked like he expected.

There's other parts, like how the food is handled during preparation and its proximity to non-halal food. Violate those rules and the previously halal meal becomes tainted.

McDonald's are stand alone entities run by each franchisee.

The shouldn't have marketed a product that did not meet the claims they were making.

They brought this on themselves. Same if they claimed product was kosher or sugar free or gluten free or whatever the million of possible diet requirements are out there.

For the hard heads its is like selling a BCG claiming its HPT and MP and it was not. It's called fraud.
