A frantic call from a cell phone for help made by an illegal immigrant prompts an all-out search by Border Patrol agents to try and find them.

"Around 4pm, Border Patrol agents received information concerning frantic 911 calls that were originating north of the La Gloria area. Agents were able to triangulate the area where the phone calls where coming from." said Border Patrol spokesperson Roy Cervantes.

They were coming from somewhere about 50 miles northwest of La Gloria near Hebbronville, but they agents didn't know where so they asked the man on the cell phone to help them out.

"Utilizing helicopters from both sectors, the agents were able to advise the 911 caller to start a fire." said Cervantes.

Shortly after building the fire, Border Patrol search, trauma and rescue teams were able to find the four suspected illegal immigrants near Hebbronville.

"The initial agents that first responded were the pilots that landed their aircraft in the area and provided them with water." Cervantes said "And they could see that one of the females went into cardiac arrest. They attempted to resuscitate her, ultimately she passed away there at the scene."

Paramedics rushed the woman's husband, another man and woman to a Laredo hospital to be treated for dehydration.

The Border Patrol is now searching for a smuggler believed to have abandoned this group a few days ago in the middle of no where.

Agents believe the woman died of dehydration, but have ordered an autopsy be performed.

Investigators will now try to determine where the group was coming from and how they entered the country illegally.

Booooo! We shouldn't be paying for EMS personnel to risk their lives and waste time helping illegals.
