Pretty dumb to carry a concealed firearm in a state with really restrictive gun laws to a protest where there is a massive police presence and where it has been announced everyone will be searched for weapons, and then try to use a "CCW permit" from a state that doesn't issue non-resident permits when you don't even live in that state............
MA laws are dumb but that guy dug his own grave. |

If he had only waited a couple weeks for reciprocity to get signed into law....................

"failing to behave in a respectful and responsible manner"
What kind of horse hockey charge is that? |

I'm going to assume a guy who had to jump through all the hoops to obtain a permit has greater knowledge about ccw reciprocity with other states as compared to Suzy Soccer mom who got Shall Issue permit in another state.

Whose side was he on? If the commies, that would explain the utter stupidity.

NY may not but Mass does issue non resident permits. If the guy had a NY permit he should have just paid the $100. View Quote |

I feel like if you get a NY carry permit, you ought to be able to carry anywhere. After an accomplishment like that, you earned it....

Problem for the guy was, he would have to report the loss to the State as per the unSafe Act. So he would have been found out and would lose his permit forever, possibly along with all other firearms. So he was desperate.

This shouldn't be a factor when it comes to firearm laws, they should apply to everyone the same. Bad arrest, dude was carrying the equivalent of a BB gun View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I don't see where he admitted it was his gun. Cops planted a cheapo throw-down weapon in his vest, perhaps?

When he was confronted about the gun he produced his New York issued permit for it. In New York you have to permit each firearm, permit is specific to gun. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

from the article, it sounds like he produced a Concealed Carry permit, not an ownership permit for that gun: Police say Mizrahi later came to the police station to claim the vests.
