In the aftermath of the apprehension of the two suspects in Maryland, what will be the probable status of the guns taken from innocent gun owners? My position is that they will remain in evidence until the case is absolutely closed. One of the things the defense will use will be to challenge the ballistic testing of the .223 taken from the two shooters. (my assumption) That would mean that the guns could be gone forever, with NO compensation to the rightful, law abiding owners. Just wondering what you folks think.

The alphabet-soup agents will probably term the rifles as abandoned property. Thus, these will be destroyed. Unless the owner has a property receipt and can claim it.
