Joined the Revolutionary Army at age 16, he was 6'-6" tall, fought all through the war, numerous notable feats including;
Following the Battle of Camden, South Carolina, Francisco noticed the Americans were leaving behind one of their valuable cannons, mired in mud. Legend says he freed and picked up the approximately 1,100-pound cannon and carried it on his shoulder to keep it from falling into the hands of the enemy.
Also said to have singlehandedly "slew 11 of the enemy with a great broadsword" at the battle of Guilford Courthouse on this date in 1781. That sword was given to him by Washington himself. It was 6 feet long!

If Washington was considered a giant, what must have this guy looked like? Picture some poor, scrawny Cockney conscript seeing that come across a field at him....
