How many of us ARFcomrs wear cowboy boots?  Is it a western states thing?

As long as they aren't Birkenstocks or Bebe shoes, you should be fine

I wear a nice pair my grandfather had made for him, from time to time. They were rather expensive, I'm told. Good thing we both have the same size feet.

I do.
People just dont understand them, thats all.
The go on and off with ease.
They are water/mud/shit proof.
The bottoms clean with one swipe on the grass or door mat.
Fit better the running shoes
When riding, jesus jordans(hippy sandles) wont cut it.
They last for YEARS!!!

ETA: Uncle Sam doesnt pay for my boots anymore!

Yep I have several pair of them broken in just the way I like them.
I've worn them for years - one pair for almost thirty years (been resoled many times...).
Unless I'm jogging I'm always in my boots.

Cowboy boots?

Never, for me. Of course I'm in Michigan so anyone wearing cowboy boots here is a poseur on the way to the "country-western" club. Now, a hot chick wearing cowboy boots is a different story!

I wear hiking shoes and boots. Least manly shoes I wear are Bass slip-ons. Great for driving and taking the dog out at night.

<---Danners and an assortment of other backcountry and trail boots, along with all my high-speed ninja jackboots for kicking in doors, shooting dogs and such.

I think the last time I actually wore cowboy boots was around 12.  They just aren't practical unless you are in the saddle, and then when you get out of the saddle, you're SOL again.

I never wear any shoes that I can't run in.

I am wearing steel toe Doc Matren  "Gaucho" boots at work right now.  They have a round toe and aren't exactly cowboy boots but I like them.
I’ve got pretty wide toes and need a decent toebox in my footwear.  Roachkillers don’t work well for me.

I guess I am in a Western state FWIW.

My feet are too big and too wide for Cowboy boots. I can barely find regular shoes that will fit me.

Jesus Christ could those boots have any bigger heels on them?

I can't wear cowboy boots.

They

1. Make me taller, which I surely don't need.
2. Dont fit well.  I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel.  I've never found a cowboy boot that fits me.

i love a good set of boots, I pined for over six months before I purchased these, and then had to jump on them when I found a 40% coupon.

The size of the soles doesn't bother me, actually helps when I am slugging through thick Alabama clay at my shooting spot.

Whats wrong with wearing Birkenstocks?
When I'm not at work, thats all I wear... along with Gap kahaki shorts.
Goes well with my 1911
Think about it, who is going to think a guy wearing Gap shots and Birkenstock is carrying a 1911
