Parents concerned with man holding rifle across street from elementary school
WICHITA, Kan. A man sitting on his front porch holding what appears to be a rifle, right across the street from an elementary school. It’s a sight that has parents in Wichita concerned. The Wichita School District said it’s aware of the situation but adds, the man isn’t doing anything illegal. Now, that man is saying this is all just a misunderstanding. Glad no one saw man in Tennessee pissing in back yard with pistol on hip.

Someone doing something that is not illegal, but that makes stupid people uneasy.
How the fuck is this news? |
|
While the people do need to fuck off since he isn't violating any laws he is still dumb as fuck for doing what he is doing. Could have swore that everyone here agrees that a person should never invite the man into your life. Seems like he is just asking to be fucked with.

"But Kyle said he’s had two people confront him, threatening him because he had a firearm. “He said if I didn’t have that gun I’d cut you up real good,” Kyle said remembering something a man outside his house said to him this week." Apparently the Wichita school system is a bit deficient. |

That's not a real bad neighborhood, as far as I remember. I haven't been out that way in several years.
On the one hand, if his purpose was to provide some sort of protection for the children, I could appreciate that. But he never said anything about that. He said he's a hunter who likes to sit with his gun, just because he has a gun doesn't mean he's a bad guy and he's sorry for calling someone a mean name. That just sounds weird as shit to me. It makes no sense. Now to be clear, I'm not asking for the government to take away his rights over this, but I'd expect parents to be concerned. It's not the actual carrying the gun that bothers me, it's his nonsensical explanation for his actions that bothers me. He can, but he shouldn't. |

It probably wouldn't have been such a big deal if he wasn't naked, as well.

What's with Wichita? There have been a lot of goofballs from there as memory serves.

In before the cops shoot grandad with dementia seven times while he's holding a umbrella.

What's the problem. If I was a dad of a school kid, after dropping my kid off, I would just saddle up my AK or AR and go over and chat with the guy about guns.

Israels gun laws pretty much suck but at least they provide some security for the disarmed people. |

As long as his name is American the wisdom of the General Discussion says it's fine.
But if his name is Muhammad they're crazy upset - same man, same location, same gun ... different name, different response. |

What a fucking squirrel.
If this dork doesn't understand why sitting across the street from a schools with a rifle makes people uncomfortable he's a dumbfuck of biblical proportions. Idiocy like this should not be cheered on. Also Wichita can be a pretty fucked up place. |

View Quote Can you provide links to the GD thread where a Muslim is sitting on his porch across from a school and everyone is upset? Or are you just being particularly contrarian today? Because my general feeling is that Arf supports gun rights for everyone. I remember the BBP thread where they show up with rifles and GD's typical comment is "Good, everyone should be armed". |

What other tool could he be holding while sitting on his porch that is capable of killing someone 100yds away? Just sitting there fondling the rifle strikes me as a bit odd. If he was cleaning the rifle it would be less odd IMO. You wouldn't find it odd if someone (not obviously a maintenance/construction worker) was walking around the grocery store or mall carrying a cordless skill saw or nail gun? |

My perspective would be just because you can, doesn't mean you should. He has every right to do it, and I understand the parents being uneasy about it. Now if things were like the old days where neighbors and neighborhoods were close and we knew everyone, no shits would be given.
Jimmy is on the porch again with his long gun. Reminds me, I think I will head on over and talk with him and ask him over for dinner. I want to check out the new glass he just bought for his rifle too. |

Maybe on the occasion I had to clean it I would. But then again in the right community Im surprised anyone would even call it in. To me its no different then a power saw or a nail gun but these Libs they screech all over 911 and these dispatchers start screeching into the radio like its a 9/11 type deal. Sometimes its better to lay off the theater. But its his right if theres no Law on the books. Its HIS house. |
