He said: 'The carpet was covered by a layer of blood and the ceiling above my head was also splattered with blood.

'I could see an electric chainsaw embedded in the man's neck - the blade was three quarters of the way through his neck.

'The handle of the chainsaw had been tied by white string to a table leg and the trigger had been tied up by sellotape.

'The lead was connected to a timer switch which was plugged into the wall.

'I have never come across an incident quite this graphic.'

Guy I went to high school with decapitated himself with a bandsaw. I always wondered if he had to get a running start at it or what?

There was a guy about a year ago or so who built his own guillotine over the course of a few months out in the woods and the use it on himself.

I'm not sure if he made it all the way through or not. It was certainly the cause of death. My mom is the local police clerk. Otherwise I would have called BS.

Ever try to use a bandsaw to cut up a piece of meat?  I have.  Its not too bad, but you definitely aren't going to slice through a human neck like a hot knife through butter.  There's all kinds of bones and cartilage and crap to go through.

A member here works for a Fire Dept in FL.  A while back (at least a year or two) he stated that he was on a suicide scene where a guy cut his head off with a chainsaw.  This could be the same one or it may not be...

This is the kind of shit that happens when you have strict gun control laws. In a "free" country, people would be able to just off themselves cleanly with a .45.

Yes, they're quite nifty.  But my point was that there's still some effort involved.  Especially considering its a human neck (bones and all) and not a side of beef.

You can go thru a human neck with a steak knife easily enough. Shouldn't be any problem for a bandsaw.

I dont know if anybody else remembers the three drunks in a German bar about 8 or 10 years ago.

All three would go to the bar , drink themselfs drunk, and have a pissing contest on who is the toughest. They would beat the crap out of each other. Oh. and the bar patrons cheered them on.

On this occasion they started with one guy saying that he was the toughest and he said he could cut his on hand off with a chainsaw.. So he did.

The second said he could top that and cut he cut his own leg off.

The third guy said he was the toughest, started the chainsaw and cut his own head clean off.

Darwin got one out of three in that occasion.

Ohhhh from the picture of the wife you can tell she's a mean one. Between the state owning him and making him pay for her 'upkeep' he must have figured it was just easier to off himself and leave her destitute instead of him. THere's Socialism for ya- better to kill yourself off than be a slave to the State and the ex-wife. Beautician hits sucka lottery fail.

Google images "bandsaw suicide" and you'll see where somebody cut himself in half at the waist on a large bandsaw.  Suicide, but probably not painless.

Many years ago and guy walked into one of the Big Pawn shops in PHX (The Jewelry Box) and asked to look at their tools. He chose a Skill Saw and asked if there was a way to test it to make sure it runs. Well they had a power pole in the middle of the store just for plugging in electric tools to test.

He plugged it in, ran it a couple times, then he pulled back the safety guard and buried the blade in his own neck.
