Bid day today. Little pump station rehab.

Quiet so far.

No new service orders or trouble tickets waiting in my 'book' this morning.

HOWEVER!!!!!
The last 6 times I went of vacation shit hit the fan somehow on the day I left. I have my fingers crossed as it's wheels rollin' to Wyoming at 5pm so I can kill some fast food. The truck is loaded and ready to go as I have my Antelope tags to fill. Following that it's Coyotes and Prairie Dogs that will get some lead poisoning.

But at least I'll have a good lunch today: http://www.baumhowers.com/

We got lunch provided today because we made 98% on time delivery to our biggest customer. And we set a new sales record this month with close to 12 million in sales.

We did actually have a "Summer of Recovery."

I have an easy day so far. Machines running, 30 minute cycle times. After these parts finish it's back to the 1951 monarch for some cast iron goodness.

Waiting for a contractor to finish his end of a project so I can light up a new network. I don't have much else going on until then. Then I'll be running my legs off for a couple of weeks. It's feast and famine around here.

I did have to talk to a raging asshole about why the network wasn't up yet. It's on schedule and that's all I can say. What part of "It's not finished yet?" is so hard to understand that I have to listen to someone rant and rave about how inconvenient I am making their lives? I know we need to get this project done and I'm on schedule and under budget. I guess it was just my morning to talk to an asshole. No doubt I'll be summoned to a meeting with his supervisor after lunch. I'm going to make a deliberate point of making the asshole the topic of the day.

Lots of machinists fuckin off today I see. I'm running Citizen L20's (7 axis swiss turns) with IEMCA barfeeders. I have 120 feet of 12ft rods loaded up. It changes them for me when its ready. I got literally Nuttin to do but check parts once in a while.

ETA: I'd post a pic but ITAR regs would spank my pee-pee.

Just got a call from the boss, my involuntary week long vacation is ending tomorrow. Today, I get to rust some flowers for mom's craft sales and pickup the final pieces to finish off the bathrooms I'm remodeling for the parents.

Oh yeah, and probably going to get a second job bussing tables.

Finishing my lunch break at my desk.

Called dealers about B/O parts, talked to two customers this morning (They aren't supposed to call here, but our dealers send them our way all the time. )

This afternoon will be chock full of filling back orders and submitting PCRA's. It's running into slow season now, so not as many technical / parts calls. I might even move some of these tractor parts back into their locations and away from my desk.

Grizzly Long Cut Straight for me.

Watch out for lunch.

I was in a rush so I ran to MCD's where I saw slow, smelly old people, fat poor people, obnoxious urban youth, and a family that was retarded on inbred. Possibly both. Two minutes later I watched a car run a red light smack into the side of a left turning semi truck.

Worst 5 minutes of my life.

EDIT to add: My fries are cold. God Damnit.

Nice.

I used to run larger stuff, now it's usually just little pieces the size of a quarter or smaller. Tight tolerances, FAA oversight, and larger quantities, but the pay is good and the job is secure.

The complexity of the machine keeps it interesting mroe than anything else at this point.
