Some rapper will buy that for way more than $30,000

But following the death of actor Brandon Lee, who was accidentally shot by a live round fired from a pistol on a film set in 1993, the US banned automatic weapons in filming.

As a result Pacino's weapon was retired with the firing pin removed and sold off to a private collector.

If it's bought legally, what's the problem?

Is it Title II NFA transferable?  I just checked Ruben's site, and he has a few pristine examples that are priced over $30K.

Movie 203's are usually altered flare launchers, but that's some kind of mockup.

Just think, they could have removed the whole bolt carrier too.  Then you'd really be screwed trying to restore function.

I think "Scarface" was the first movie I saw where someone used the M16/203 combo.

The gun in the pic above is NOT a full auto, unless they used a DIAS, since it clearly doesnt have a sear pin hole.

It said the 203 was rendered inoperable by pin removal. Article calls the rifle a machine gun several times. My little friend is going to sell for much more then 30k. Iconic gun is iconic.

The grenade launcher looks the same as the Predator gun. But Arnold's didn't have the forward assist.

The launcher must be some type of Hollywood flare launcher m203 look-a-like prop.

Sofa King Wat?!

Banned F/A in movies.....lulz

The Launcher looks like an 80's flare launcher- Cobray? that doesn't look 37mm, but if it's not a registered DD, then I guess it must be.

If its a transferable, I laugh at $30K and the idiot that suggested it could reach that amount.

I myself would spend $30K and consider it a steal.

If its a transferable and with its history, the price at auction will reach or exceed $100,000.

I hate myself for not having the cash to buy the AR-18 Arnold used in Terminator when it went for a little more than $10K many years ago.

The Scarface gun is a legitimate Colt M16A1 which has traded hands a few time since it was sold off by Stembridge.  Serial # is 9310593

Its documented on the 9 Million Serial # range chart on this site.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_23/199902_Serial_number_info_on_Colt_factory_M16s_UPDATED_5_12_2013_.html

The M203 is/was a prop.

The gun that Arnold uses in Predator is different and is clearly a converted Colt SP1 (as was Billys) you can see in many shots in the movie that the gun has no Mag "fence" and is a large hole upper with the screw type front take down pin.

As for cost I would suspect it will go for between 50 and 100K to a collector.
Link Posted: 11/7/2015 9:18:16 PM EDT
[#43]
Being that the story is now proven false and it was not used by Arnold but was used by Al, I will reduce my est from reaching or exceeding $100,000, to $75K-$100k.

.

There was a "making of Scarface" that had a part about how they got the gun to sync with the frame rate of the camera during filming of Scarface.  It was on one of the History networks last weekend, IIRC.

I don't remember the details as it was mainly background noise while I was doing other things.
