As mentioned above, OWC for RAM.
Double check the machine ID of your machine and order whatever they recommend. I don't know if your model MBP supports 16GB, so research that a bit before you order.
I upgraded my 2012 MPB 15" to 1TB SSD and it was fantastic. I picked up a Samsung 840 Evo and never looked back. You'll love it.
I would buy a 840 or 850 Samsung (probably the newer 850), and external USB or Firewire case, clone the drive over (using Disk Utility) and swap the drives. You'll need a small philips head screw driver and a torx bit of correct size. You can find instructions on the web ( check ifixit.com)
When you format the new SSD, remember to partition it with the Option GUID partition type. The default drive ships as MBR and that will not boot the Mac. You MUST repartition it!
Then use the "Restore" tab, pick you old drive as the source and the SSD as the Target.
I like to do this when booted from a USB key to make sure that the old drive isn't active. I use the OS X installer copied to a USB key using DiskMaker X.
