Depends alot on the Garand market where you live. $ 800-1000 at the most. Check out Scott Duffs prices on his web page, he usually has one or two IHC's.

Some of the collector CMP's I have seen weren't worth even $ 950. There guarantee is that the rifle will be 100% IHC etc but not for overall condition of the rifle. If you can find someone to give you more than $ 950 feel lucky! If your IHC is a arrow head or gap letter than maybe more. if a run of the mill, $ 800-1000.

If it is what you beleive it is your looking at about $2000.00 +/- depending on the buyer.

I think Springfield is hoping that the CMP runs out of rifles. I really don't think they will ever have the appeal of the U.S.G.I. rifles. What would you rather have an M1A or a U.S.G.I. M-14(semi-auto of course)?

I have a garand and love it. Springfield from korean war. With the new Springfields coming out what do you think they will be like. I would buy one if they were of quality. I think they will be. They are probably going to be like the M1A. With the loaded options. I think people are going to flock towards them.

Original GI is and always will be worth more than new production.I don't care if they look, smell, feel and shoot alike. We also might get a flood of imports if we get our way in the near future. These will have import stamps and will not be worth as much as a non-import. The value of original (non import) will just continue to go up as new collectors grow and supply dwindles. All these WW2 movies raises the value as interest grows and also causes less supply.Keep the gun, it's better than many investments and you can play with it. I have SN 69...Condition about what you would expect for such an old unit. Kept herself in shape, had a few "face lifts", and looks pretty good...what's that worth? [;)]

Don't take this as a flame. An inquiring mind wants to know. What makes this particular rifle so collectible?? Going by the serial number it is a post WWII production. Is it because of the amount that were manufactured?? COLTSHORTY GOA KABA COA JPFO SAF NRA "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on. It is a Korean war era. It wouldnt bring anywhere near that kinda money around here. Scott Duff might be able to get you a good chunk, he has sold several for me,including a M1D stillin the wrap and some others. I agree completely that the USGI ones clobber the new ones out there as far a collecting..

IHC,s in nice shape( all complete) are not rare ! They missed WW2 and Korea. Yours is a postage stamp and so being is not all that rare or as desireable as a Gap letter or arrowhead . Most never received enough use to need rebuild ! You can send it off to Duff and have it appraised or put on his sale page, you might be able to get a little more $ for it there.
