There is a huge fire on the top of I15, which about 60 or 70 miles north of Los Angeles, on the way to Las Vagas. It was caused by a traffic collision. The fire is burning right next to the freeway, which has been causing a traffic backup all way back to Victorville & Barstow for traffic heading south to L.A.

Cajon Pass, started out little and then got into the stuff that didn't burn in the last few years and there it went. West of I-15 and heading out the West Cajon Pass, has 138 closed too.

The last few days the weather at both the top and bottom of the Pass hass been 105-107 degrees with single digit humidity, kinda drys the desert brush out all the way, at least we didn't have any Santa Anas pushing it along at 80 mph or more.

Called the "Runway" Fire , a few more links

Looks like the Governator was fighting another one of those Predators. He needs to stop micromanaging and let the National Guard/CIA/SF do their jobs...

You don't know how comforting it is to see the smoke going straight up. No wind. That's Santa Ana Wind territory and the winds have been known to blow down the Pass at 70-80 mph, and when adding fire generated winds at 120 mph. But after the last few years there isn't much left to burn in the Pass.
