I just received some more pictures from my buddy "Shawn" in Afghanistan...

Here they are along with some of the text from the accompanying e-mail:

"The one picture with our coffee, sugar and ammo cabinet is great. That cabinet is about 5 feet from my bed. I thought the camel's was funny to. There were kids riding on the camels and the jackass'. The people herding them are called nomads. They migrate north for the summer to sell their stock of sheep and lamb. The old tanks is the junk yard is proof positive that even idiots can blow things up with little to no technology. There are old tanks like that as far as the eye can see in some places. If you look closely it gives a whole new meaning to chop shop. They even striped the tracks and wheels off of them."

How do you take your coffee...sugar, cream, or HE?...

Tank bone-yard...

Camel Herders...

"Shawn" & his crew...

I'll post more pictures as I get them.

I've seen a lot of pictures from Iraq lately. A buddy I work with has a son over there in EOD. He's sent back some VERY GRAPHIC pics of Iraqi parts. Wish he'd let me show them.

Why would someone want to bust their ass pulling the roadwheels and tracks and shit of the armor?

I'll drop my buddy an e-mail and see if I can get him to send some pictures of their hardware & some captured weapons.

Thanks for sharing the pics including the snapshot of the camels. Photo journalism goes beyond the viewers' taste. It offers to bring insights that aren't conveyed by mere words alone. For instance, why aren't we selling all those scrap tanks to someone for their weight in steel?
