Hey folks. I'd appreciate a little help if I can.
My daughter flew down from Chicago to visit some friends in the St. Louis area on Tuesday. We hadn't heard from her by Thursday (not unusual) and started calling around. Turns out that she didn't stay with the friend that she was supposed to, and, according to one of her female friends, was staying at a motel in the Granite City IL area with two of her male friends, Josh (20) and Tim, aka "Timba" (20). She was supposed to be on a flight home yesterday. She never checked in (or subsequently arrived). The 24 hour period has elapsed, so I'm going up to our PD to initiate a missing person report. Once I have a case number I'm calling GCPD, and touching base with Maryland Heights PD (where she was supposed to be staying), since they said the report has to originate in her municipality of residence. Her name is Abbie Holper. Not sure if she's changed her hair color again or not. She's 17. If anybody has seen her, or their kids have, or if you're bored, and want to troll the area on the lookout, I'd appreciate it. I'm hoping this will resolve like 98% of all the missing teenagers, with a kid showing up late to a little hollering, a lot of hugs, and a lecture the next day. BIG +1 to that ! She's probably just being a pig-headed teenager.  Doesn't she have a cellphone with her that you could call ? Maybe call the phone co. and see if they can put a GPS trace on her location ? |

Havent seen her, I dont get around much but if i do ill tell ya. Hopefully it turns out ok, STL is getting more dangerous every year, and young out of town girls, dont know where and where not to go.

Her cellphone got stolen at the Worp tour 2 weeks ago - we've been waiting for a replacement, so no go on a GPS fix or call.
Luckily  she's not an "out of towner"; she was living in the North County (St. Anne / Maryland Heights) area, and attending Pattonville High School until Feb. of this year. These guys are 2 of her old friends from the area, so it's not like it's "two dudes she met yesterday", so we're hoping it is just Teenager syndrome (head inside rectal cavity, and unaware of effects of one's actions)

Do either of the two guys have cell phones? You have to start trying to backtrack and if these guys are with her, a cell phone will help if it is on and hitting off of a tower.
Can you track her financially ie, ATM, CC etc? You will need a court order, search warrant for the phone stuff, hopefully the PD will help. |

Don't have their numbers yet - we're pulling her phone records for the last month now. No CC / ATM with her. No court order needed for her stuff - It's in our name. It's good to pay the bill sometimes - gives you full account access.  Now it's just trying to sort through her internet sites and trying to see if any of her frineds know what phone # goes to whom. |

Phone records for her will be helpful. You should be able to get the two guys #s off there if need be, plus a whole lot of others. You would need a warrant/order if you wanted to get records or track their phones. (the guys) if she is with them that may be required to find her. Google will show a surprising amount of subscriber info for landlines and some cells. You will need access to a better database for cell info and even that will be limited without a subpeopna for subscriber on some of the numbers. Any idea if she is still with the 2 guys? You can work on finding any of them in hopes of finding all or at least more info. |

She's actually been a really good kid so far. Although I'm stepdad, she helped out immensely when my Mom was staying with us. She's OK with her little sister (17 v. 3... you can imagine that), and she's stayed out of drugs & drinking. And after being a "labor assistant" with the delivery of her sister, she decided that the last thing she wanted to do was have a baby, or even get close  . She even applied for a job and was hired - she's supposed to start this week.She's just 17, and misses her friends and social life down south. And, being the "age if invincible" she fails to understand the full effect of her actions sometimes; then, once she realizes she's screwed up, she gets convinced that "everybody (adult and family) hates her" so she figures she might as well stay gone. God I love teen drama. |

Here's hoping she's just a 17yr old kid acting like a 17yr old kid for a few days.
As other people have said though please let me know if there's anything i can do to help (?) I've got a couple of teen-aged "Step' (I ain't married to g'Ma but i live with her) Grand-Daughters who think "Papa-Treadhead" is a little too paranoid about them when they stay with us but, they're pretty kids and this damn state "seem's" to be full of sex-offenders they're not willing to keep locked-up  I'm sure your girl is fine man but, make the report anyway. |

When she comes home, I think its time to change the rules. No more goth/punk/miscreant look and if she's gone for more than 12 hours, her stuff is on the street. If she wants to play like an adult, she should bear all of the responsibilities too.

look for her, and her friends on myspace. sometimes they post their plans or where they are, etc. |

+1,000,000 on the myspace.com account. Those pictures look like typical myspace "angles".
You need to find her user name and password, plus check her emails. I think you will be shocked by the kinds of things a 14 year old will do and say on that site. If she uses AIM, you need to sign in on that too, maybe someone will IM you thinking its her and say something to clue you in. If you know her email address you can go through the "i forgot my password" links to get a new one, once you get the new pass change it back to the old one. |

Welcome to the club! Father of two grown daughters here. I'm hoping this is just one of those "forgiveness vs permission" kind of deals. That's usually what it was when one of ours turned up AWOL. They both grew up just fine and are well adjusted young women today (whatever the hell *that* means  ).

Hey bro,
When she gets back maybe you ought to take her to Church and introduce her to Christ. Raising your child without God is a serious sin, my parents did it and I paid dearly  until I got saved. I pray you find her and get her back before things go too far. Her 'friends' look like people I would draw down on in a dark alley, they do not look like good influences.........God bless bro....

MySpace checked, and contact with someone named Tim sent - just a request for a heads up from her.
Report filed - apparantly (Great) Grandma told the invstigating officer that we had already filed one up here  . Once he discovered the actual nature of the case, we got her in the system.Thanks again to all for thought and prayers. I'll SITREP as appropriate, but I gotta try to get some sleep... I'm on shift in the AM. |

you can search myspace by the person's name, that's how i found it too. It shows the last time she logged on as last thursday. Tango7, i assume this is your 3 year old? if so she's a cutie (it was in her myspace pics)  Here are a couple more of Tim(off his myspace) Errrhhh, how can I put it, I guess from the looks of him you shouldn't have to worry about her coming home pregnant, at least.

Waiting for some good news on this situation. My 16 year old son says that Tim is an "Emo-fag", and if you even so much as threaten him he will break down and cry. I would punch him anyway if it were my daughter.
