It's on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against repealing the health care law championed by President Barack Obama. The Kentucky Republican said Monday it's hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the 2,700-page health care law, WHAS-TV reports. "If you thought it was a good idea for the federal government to go in this direction, I'd say the odds are still on your side," McConnell said. "Because it's a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it in the first place." Read more: http://times247.com/articles/mcconnell-odds-are-long-on-obamacare-repeal#ixzz1zYgdHxXN |

Now republicans are afraid of the campaign slogan "look they want to take away your healthcare"
I said it in another thread but I saw this coming a mile away. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Unfortunately, he is right...
I'm still in the fight though...I'm not giving up on this one. |

I heard debate that only parts of the law are overturn able with 51 votes but some parts require a supermajority. Anyone have any details on this?
|
|
Look at which Senate seats are in play this year. They are mostly liberal strong holds. We must pickup Florida, Virginia and Missouri. If we don't get all 3 we won't have the numbers.
But again, this could have been trivial if Roberts had done his fucking job.
|
|
If the Republicans have any chance at repeal, they need to simultaneously offer/sell an alternative for reform.
The voters may say they hate Obamacare, but they like too many of its features when asked about them separately.

Or its a ploy to energize the voters to get the republicans in majority. Roberts and now McConnell, read between the lines.

Based on the fact that I haven't seen anything brilliant from the movers and shakers in the party, I'm going to go with that they are all boobs.

Mitch needs to slink away back to where ever he came from.
It is time for an (R) senate leader with some testicular fortitude not a Harry Reid step & fetch it. |

but..... but.....but.... Chief Justice Roberts sent a coded message in a grand scheme that the republicans would overturn obamacare and everyone would be better off. |
|
absolute horseshit.
the free market is seeing what the people like, 26 yr olds covered, preexisting conditions etc. and the insurance companies are accepting it as workable. small potatoes in the scheme of things..and OPEN REGISTRATION thru the majority of company health care plans are already covering preexisting conditions. the Bill was passed overnight voiding the ability to filiabuster and passes as One massive peice of shit LAW thru the house and senate repealing it entotal should be no problem packaged with the proposed "Liked" items along side making everybody happy.. Kentucky Bros of arfcom, YOU need to be on the phone, the fax, the internet contacting McConnells office and tell the the Hatfeilds and McCoys had NOTHING on what's gonna happen to his campaign if he continues to talk like this... |
|
Per-emptive surrender. There's a manly scheme...

when the gop says "repeal and replace"
they really mean "keep most of it, but change how it is funded" which is sad. |

I Feel sorry for any moron that thoUght the GOP would actually repeal this law in any way, shape, or form

WTF? How hard can it be to write a bill that reads "This bill hereby repeals that bill."
What a spineless fuck. |
|
Yeah, but RINO's are better than Democrats because they make a good show of it.
Lesser Evil voting is ruining the country as sure as Obama could ever hope, just slower. |
|
I'm shocked.
Apparently, the CJ's secret master plan to elect a Republican majority in Congress and a Republican President and to get rid of ObamaCare, while simultaneously rolling back the Fedgov is doomed to fail. And just the other day one of the talking heads on TV said the he was playing chess while others were playing checkers. If the talking head is right, the question now becomes: Which team is the CJ playing for? |

I am convinced that we are no longer a country ruled by law, we are a country ruled by men. Men whom have lost their virtue. Corruption has reached every aspect of our government. Let it collapse from the weight of itself upon its crumbling foundation.

Nothing that he said was untrue...
Some of you guys think a magic wand can be waved and poof it's gone. It must go through the entire legislative process and a proper defense made against the media AND the 52% of Americans that voted for Obama knowing this was a key platform of his campaign. As a part of the 'repeal', the Republicans must have a replacement that is clearly superior or they will get hammered. It's not easy being austere in the face of a majority of the voting public that wants a nanny state. Even if Barry S. gets tossed in November, those that elected him are still there and available to be whipped up by the media. Be prepared for more 'Granny eats dog food to afford pills' stories. |
