I heard debate that only parts of the law are overturn able with 51 votes but some parts require a supermajority. Anyone have any details on this?

Look at which Senate seats are in play this year.  They are mostly liberal strong holds.  We must pickup Florida, Virginia and Missouri.  If we don't get all 3 we won't have the numbers.

But again, this could have been trivial if Roberts had done his fucking job.

If the Republicans have any chance at repeal, they need to simultaneously offer/sell an alternative for reform.

The voters may say they hate Obamacare, but they like too many of its features when asked about them separately.

absolute horseshit.

the free market is seeing what the people like, 26 yr olds covered, preexisting conditions etc. and the insurance companies are
accepting it as workable. small potatoes in the scheme of things..and OPEN REGISTRATION thru the majority of company health care plans
are already covering preexisting conditions.

the Bill was passed overnight voiding the ability to filiabuster and passes as One massive peice of shit LAW thru the house and senate

repealing it entotal should be no problem packaged with the proposed "Liked" items along side making everybody happy..

the Hatfeilds and McCoys had NOTHING on what's gonna happen to his campaign if he continues to talk like this...

jezus. should we finally consider that republicans a) can't bend over fast enough to accommodate liberals, and b) aren't particularly good at the game of politics on the off-chance they actually want to put a halt to some new liberal program or law?

if even 10% of these secret-genuis-undercover-plots were actually that, the republicans would own the world by now.

Here's the rub, I think most GOP'ers want a good bit of Obamacare to remain intact. Most of the regular GOPers are just as ignorant on economics and respond emotionally as the democratic party.

I'm shocked.
Apparently, the CJ's secret master plan to elect a Republican majority in Congress and a Republican President and to get rid of ObamaCare, while simultaneously rolling back the Fedgov is doomed to fail.
And just the other day one of the talking heads on TV said the he was playing chess while others were playing checkers.

If the talking head is right, the question now becomes: Which team is the CJ playing for?

It's on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against repealing the health care law championed by President Barack Obama.

The Kentucky Republican said Monday it's hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the 2,700-page health care law, WHAS-TV reports.

"If you thought it was a good idea for the federal government to go in this direction, I'd say the odds are still on your side," McConnell said. "Because it's a lot harder to undo something than it is to stop it in the first place."

Nothing that he said was untrue...

Some of you guys think a magic wand can be waved and poof it's gone.  It must go through the entire legislative process and a proper defense made against the media AND the 52% of Americans that voted for Obama knowing this was a key platform of his campaign.

As a part of the 'repeal', the Republicans must have a replacement that is clearly superior or they will get hammered.  It's not easy being austere in the face of a majority of the voting public that wants a nanny state.  Even if Barry S. gets tossed in November, those that elected him are still there and available to be whipped up by the media.  Be prepared for more 'Granny eats dog food to afford pills' stories.
